Republican opposition to the Trump doctrine is still in full force, log-jamming Trumps critical first 100 days. For the second time congress has shelved repealing and replacing Obamacare. Progressive republicans, who are in the majority, are now holding conservatives hostage by refusing to agree to small changes of Obamacare so as to reduce the debt and lower premiums.
Progressives in both parties continue to prove that they do not want border enforcement. Incredibly they refuse to fund one-cent for the construction of a wall along the southern border. This is in spite of the fact that a large majority of republican voters want the wall built.
About eight-in-ten Trump supporters who cast ballots or were planning to in the days leading up to the election (79%) said illegal immigration was a very big problem in the U.S., according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted just before Election Day. Even more (86%) said the immigration situation in the U.S. has gotten worse since 2008. Pew Research Center
Progressives in both parties have no problem adding trillions of dollars to the already unsustainable national debt, but have already expressed their opposition to elements of the Trump tax reduction plan claiming that it would increase the national debt.
The national press continues to blame conservatives for the delay, delay, delay. But it is increasingly obvious that progressives in both democrat and republican parties do not want to implement the Trump doctrine. The battle is over insuring people with pre-existing conditions who contracted an illness or suffered an injury while uninsured. It wouldnt take a psychologist or economic expert to realize that if pre-existing conditions were not covered by a new policy that it would behoove everyone to purchase insurance so that their pre-existing condition would be covered should they choose to switch insurers. The real problem with insurance coverage is that there are no really high paying jobs, say in heavy manufacturing, where employers could afford to provide insurance coverage or workers could afford to purchase their own coverage. But the media will not address this issue because to do so would encourage an industry that they blame causes global warming.
Progressive Republicans offer the lamest excuses for not holding the line on increasing the national debt. They allow deficit spending and when money runs out they vote to increase the national debt saying that for them to shut the government down would cost republican votes in the next election. The fact is that there is no actual proof that such would be the case, but many intelligent voters seem to accept that preposterous proposition. Dont expect progressives in either party to get behind Trumps agenda to cut government spending, reduce onerous job-killing regulations, build a wall, approve fracking and offshore drilling, or to bring back heavy industry to America. Progressives in both parties have consistently shown that they are opposed to an America-First policy and will continue to delay, delay, delay, until President Trump is either voted out of office or is so damaged by inaction that he becomes the feckless president that progressives would like him to be.
In the end, being successful in the real world does not mean that Trump can be successful as president, especially when he is dealing with politicians like Paul Ryan who is very capable of writing his own book on the Art of the Political Deal.
Even if getting Gorsuch into the Supreme Court was his only big achievement in his first 100 days, it would have made those first 100 days a success. But that was just icing on a very large cake (of Trump achievements).
I noticed in Trump's speech last night when he was good-naturedly needling some congressmen (who were in the audience) about taking so long to get his agenda passed with regard to Obamacare repeal and Tax Reform. But he seemed very confident that things would work out.
The first "100 days" is entirely a media construct designed to paint Trump as a failure and many conservatives buy into it. Things in Washington just don't happen that fast. The unrealistic expectation that Trump would have had all these legislative accomplishments in 100 days basically set Trump up to fail.
Our mental problems right now stem from not continuing the fight: we’re just taking flak endlessly when we’ve located all the targets. Frustration and no clear battle plans against the obstructionists cause us to turn on each other.
We can’t ask our district chairs who the potential replacements are yet, not for another 6 months. All we can do is read between the lines and deduce.
I don’t know if this counts, but I went to his first rally in Grand Rapids; fall of 2015.
As the crowd was leaving and he was finishing his hand shaking photo ops, he started out.
He looked up and saw me standing alone by the rail over the floor exit pointed and smiled. I gave him a thumbs up.
Best Election Ever.
“Drowning”? I don’t think so. He is doing quite well thank you.
The phrase “Romanian Term Limits” comes to mind.
and it is striking how similar the political situation faced by Coolidge was to that faced by Trump.
Silly. If Trump is drowning we should all drown. He has accomplished more than any pres since FDR in 100 days
To Trump’s credit he got Gorsich confirmed and continues to deport illegals. He’s issued tons of EO’s in the conservative agenda and nominated all conservative cabinet picks.
Yes he lags on Obamacare and the wall but I never expected those would be accomplished definitely not in the first 100 days.
I’m happy with him even though I don’t say it much.
This will cheer you up, mightily. The war on K-Street has begun - and Sundance is spearheading it - and you need to be in it.

Two words:
Paul Ryno.
One of the things that you may find interesting is that Coolidge wanted to lower taxes from 70 to 25 percent. The Republican progressives were worried about deficits and benefitting the Rich, and would not give Coolidge a bill until it was loaded with a bunch of spending and it also didn’t give the kind of tax reduction that Coolidge wanted, leaving all kinds of special taxes that would not help with getting the economy going. They gave him a bill that only lowered to 40 percent. He thought about it, and ultimately decided that signing would be better than the current rate, even if it was not what he wanted, and so he signed, reluctantly. The revenue then began pouring in. In another year, he got the tax bill that he wanted.
I just believe he’s a ‘Problem Solver’ and will figure it out with his team of ‘Problem Solvers’ :)

If he's smart, Trump will begin targeting these so-called "progressive Republicans" and hold rallies in their districts to campaign for primary candidates to replace them. The strategy will have to be to replace the obstructers in 2018 so that Trump can build enough of a coalition in Congress to break the logjam.
He should begin doing this now, if only to put the fear of Cantor in everyone.

He should be personally visiting the offices of each obstructionist, telling them capitulate or lose your seat, then primary them anyway.
No, not Trump drowning.
WE AMERICANS ARE DROWNING.
The leftist cabal who runs the country is using us, and has been for a very long time. They have bought up our politicians and they let someone play President if he is on their side or can be brought around to it, for the price of a life of riches and 8 years of feeling very important.
Trump saw it happening, like some of us do. He thought MAYBE he could do something about it.
When he won, the cabal (our enemies foreign and domestic) knew there was one thing they would have to do, or they would be wiped out of this continent. MAKE MOST AMERICANS HATE TRUMP.
Sadly, it just wasn’t very hard. Joe Q. Public knows that the worst thing in the world is racism and xenophobia. Avoiding being called a racist or a something-phobe is of the utmost priority, and it is worth being a slave the rest of your life. HOW DID THE CABAL GET US TO HAVE THIS PRIORITY?
Easy. They own the media and academia. We learned this. We are good students and we don’t want to be mocked. We now would rather be serfs to an enemy cabal than have our Constitutional and Gd-given freedoms. Gd? Who is He? Must be some evil white guy, right?
Game is not over yet. And we have truth on our side. We need some stronger form of megaphone. We need to fight better.
Agreed things need to be cemented. That isn’t going to happen in 100 days, or 1 year. At the end of 8 years, likely.
Sundance has had a great series on this.
But, no, Trump is not “drowning.” Again, if that’s drowning, we should all beg for water.
IF they can walk away from the lobbyists that writes the bills and the ones that gives the bills to different Congress people to pimp them...but I doubt that will happen...do you???
It’s time for Sundance to give us a map of the districts that need ‘attention’. We need to determing whom will be walking which planks *now* so pressure can be applied and replacements identified and supported.
The final UN-RIGGING is to be done by We the People.
