theyre trying to make her like the other Elizabeth for pity to cover up her delinquency...but shes not..
Elizabeth Smart same age was kidnapped from her own bedroom and raped repeatedly for months by a crazy man, this Elizabeth is just a “bad girl” who ran away with her boyfriend...a willing participant...
I agree . She was a runaway and put her family through hell .
Elizabeth Smart wasn’t abused at home either. This 15 year old wanted out of that house badly, she chose what she chose. It wasn’t a decision made by an educated adult with rational thinking
Wasn’t this girl’s mother just recently arrested for child abuse? If that is the case then I would say there are extenuating circumstances regarding this young girl who went willingly to escape a bad situation at home.
Cummins was an authority figure - over three times Thomas’s
age. (In one photo of Cummins’ office, he had a “magical
mysterious” Himalayan salt lamp, for “atmosphere”
evidently.) YOU do not know what sort of threats Cummins
may or may not have made against her family if she refused
to leave with him. - YOU also do not KNOW that Elizabeth
Thomas is a “delinquent”. - YOU have judged her and found
her guilty in YOUR mind.
I’m a resident of Maury County & will most likely be
called up to serve on the jury pool about the time
Cummins should be due for trial. - However, my mind is
evidently more open than yours. A person is INNOCENT in
the eyes of the law UNLESS and UNTIL proven guilty in a
court of law. That includes Cummins AND, most certainly
Elizabeth Thomas as well.
In fact, on the face of it, Tad Cummins appears to be in
DEEP DOO-DOO over his head.

So you are saying a 15 year old can grant consent? Hope you never have a daughter if you think predatory old man in a position of authority over her targeting and grooming your 15 year old is just a relationship of equals.
Or that should she of her own accord decide to act out on her feelings for an older man that that man not be a man but yield to her advances that that man is doing nothing wrong, then I really hope you never are in charge of raising a daughter.
No I am not saying the situation is the same as a forced rape, but don’t think for one minute that that a girl, in either of the situations above is not a victim of an adult who is failing to do what they should.
