No report of the death agony of his victims was available at press time...

Clearly, the Daily Mail is opposed to the death penalty. Their description of his last moments of life are designed to create sympathy for what he endured. I would rather have heard about what his victims endured during their last moments of life. It’s good he asked for forgiveness but I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for what he went through in the end.

So glad he found the Saviour in time. Horrible crimes - may everyone find forgiveness and peace.

While on the subject, I simply don’t understand the whole drug expiration date, scarcity, and the convulsing, etc. during the dying process.

It would be very easy to put these people under and then administer a drug which will stop the heart. They won’t feel a thing - like going under for surgery.

Odd how many want to allow everyone to “die with dignity” via assisted suicide, yet someone on death row cannot be put to death because it’s inhumane. Bit of a conundrum.

There’s a fascinating book called The Hot House: Life Inside Leavenworth Prison. At the time it was maximum security and the author had unfettered access for a year. Kind of crazy to think about, but he got to know many of the prisoners well and gave accounts of their stories. If I recall correctly one story, a man got released and was given an airline ticket to a city where his sister lived. She wasn’t waiting for him when he arrived and he freaked out and got scared. He committed another crime right then and there. The rest of the stories painted a picture that there exists a population of prisoners that will definitely commit the worst crimes as soon as possible given the chance. This man sounded like one of them. Happy to hear he repented. That’s more than what happened to most of the prisoners I read about in that book.

Maybe apologize after he’s dangling at the end of a rope. Say you’re sorry for not being able to make it more agonizing.

Raise your hand if you care that he convulsed on the gurney.

...looks around....I thought so.

Oh, well...he apologized.

Okay...we're all weepy eyed and unicornfied...he apologized!

What a beautiful day!

He apologized!

But he's still deader than a hammer head.

To hell with him.

Mercy is God's purview and I wouldn't deign to belittle that in any way...but God is perfect...I am not...therefore I say cast his ass into the depths of Hell and let his pitiful cries echo for eternity.

I will eventually answer to God for my impertinence, but I prefer to speak for the victims of this monster and entreat the mercies of Him upon them, rather than this turd.

May God have mercy upon the innocent victims and their families and bestow His benevolence everlastingly and may they take some closure and comfort from the fact that this monster is no longer sucking the same oxygen that they are.

Yes, may God have mercy.

He received man’s judgement in this world... but if truly repentant, will receive God’s mercy in the next.

Thank you Jesus for such grace.

I hope his repentance was genuine. Often overlooked in the death penalty issue is that it can be a mercy to the perp to have to confront the evil he has done rather than successfully avoiding it. Chuck Folsom alluded to this as a reason he became a supporter of the death penalty.

No I would never make that request.

May he get whatever peace he deserves

He did nothing to grant forgiveness. There was no remorse or improved character. Just the usual oh now I’m gonna die I’m sorry. That don’t cut it

“Williams began ‘coughing, convulsing, lurching, and jerking with sound’ for about 20 seconds before his time of death at 11.09pm CT.

After the jerking, Williams breathed through his mouth and moaned or groaned once - during a consciousness check - until falling still seven minutes into the lethal injection.”

Did they play “WHOLE LOTTA Shakin’ goin on” by Jerry Lee Lewis?

I hope he is truly saved. He gave to Ceasar what is Caeser’s with his incarceration and death. If he truly repented and confessed and accepted Christ as his Savior, then may God indeed have mercy on his soul. You like to see those lost sheep back in the fold and those prodigal sons return home to the Father.

Cheerleader vs. others. Wow. Way to slap down the family and friends of the “others.” What makes the cheerleader more important?

The Texas Department of Justice maintains a website that gives many details of those awaiting execution and those who have *been* executed. One thing you can see in the "already executed" section is if the deceased makes a "final statement". and,if so,they quote that statement (not all prisoners make a statement).

Of course a good percentage claim,in their statement, that they're innocent...that the government is murdering an innocent man...blah,blah,blah.

But a surprising percentage (surprising to me,at least) acknowledge their guilt and express regret, shame, etc for having done what they did.
