PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) A Plainfield High School student is faced with charges related to having a photo of himself with a firearm.
Police are charging a 15-year-old student of Plainfield High School with Breach of Peace, after it was revealed he had a picture of himself with a firearm.
The school administration found out about the picture, after the student had a tiff with another student. Police say that second student also had a picture of himself posing with a gun. The student facing charges, allegedly took his photo with the gun and posted it on social media, in response to the other student.
According to police, the 15-year-old also posted a comment on the other students photo, which prompted the Breach of Peace charge. Police are not releasing what the comment said at this time.
The Superintendent released the following statement on the incident:
Social media continues to be a challenge. Students continue to share inappropriate messages acting on the perception of distance and neutrality of a video phone system. Schools must take action on such social media and students and others must be held accountable. In this recent matter the school and the police followed our protocol to ensure the safety of all. The matter was addressed appropriately and demonstrates the importance of partnership and cooperation between schools and town agencies.
Firearms. The new pornography.
Shameful and to be enjoyed only in secret.
Thank goodness neither of them posted themselves posted photos of themselves, dressed as Democrat Anti-Fata creeps...
My 3 year old with a gun. Actually it is a Daisy target pistol. I hope I don't get into trouble for posting this.
I think this is misleading. Too little information and poorly worded. Did they charge for the photo or for the comment posted? I think careful reading is for the comment.
Obviously, photo control is needed. Unless, of course, the photo is pornographic - which is protected by the 1st amendment. (/sarc for those that couldn’t identify it on their own)
If it had been a picture of him giving a bj, the student would have been the Superintendent’s pride and joy as well as his poster boy.
My reading of the article lines up with yours. It sounded like the charge comes from what was written/said in the comment.
Gotta, say...
That’s a great boar/pig rifle she’s got there.
You know the gun photos trigger some folks. Pun might be intended. Sheesh, this would edges closer to utter insanity daily
So... what’s the law which the student apparently violated?
Yep, a Ruger 10-22 in dreaded "assault weapon" configuration and we're just miles from California.
That is too cute.
I was teaching my children to fire a 410 shotgun for snakes and my youngest at the time, 8, was standing almost the same way with the shotgun. We went through a small class on proper stance, then we had a more serious discussion on “fanning” the weapon and why that was a bad thing.
Same mentality that gets you suspended if you chew a breakfast pop tart into a gun shape. N/E Wackos!
Re: My 3-year old with a Daisy.
This has been forwarded to the authorities. /S
Cute kid!
Wow! Your daughter is a beautiful young lady!
Thanks, she is now a 40 year old Wife and Mother.
We had a range back in high school, late 70s, and brought our guns to/from school to shoot. Too bad I don’t have any pics.
