The more recent resurrection of Dr. Who includes the doctor going back to find an alien painted into a Vincent Van Gogh canvas and, incidentally, trying to save Vincent. Done to Don McLean's "Vincent."

My husband got me into Dr Who, but I couldn't connect to the older series that he loved. The emotion in the newer version appeals more, and the science fiction is often fascinating.

This video is most approachable, but my favorites are "These Boots" and "White is in the Winter Night." "Jingle Bells" has the doctor changing the memories of Scrooge until he becomes a better person. Best scene is when old Scrooge takes his young love out for a sleigh ride behind a shark on the last day of her life.

I do like most of the new doctors, though I'm iffy about the last.

Matt Smith was the best, in large part because of “Amy Pond,” the best sidekick ever. Tennant good too. The current one (Cipaldi) I don’t like

Thank you for saying that about Cipaldi. I have trouble being direct but I cannot understand what they saw in him that got him the position in the first place. Matt Smith was magnificent and I loved Amy and Rory and Rory’s father. David Tennant was quite powerful. He was married to the woman who played his clone daughter in the fish people episode. She was the daughter of Ex-Doctor Peter Davison. Making him afraid of regenerating was brilliant.

I like them all. Both old and new.

Capaldi reminds me of the third Doctor a lot. I will hate to see him go.

I first experienced "Doc Who" when I saw a YouTube excerpt of the final scene of the Van Gogh episode.

I was hooked and, via our library, watched the DVDs of the Matt Smith/Amy Pond series. Matt Smith was great but "Amy Pond" REALLY made that series.

I tried other doctors but they all paled to Matt Smith/Amy Pond combination.

Oh yeah...Amy Pond was really hot with that sparkle in her eyes!
