There is an interesting summary paragraph:
Regardless, the two quickest-accelerating production cars aren't exotic European supercars, but a muscle car and an electric luxury sedan developed right here in the United States that are at least more attainable than a limited-edition Ferrari, Bugatti, or Koenigsegg. That's pretty cool.

It will take an awful lot of traction tricks to get that to happen. 850+hp and weight loss can do a lot.

I can’t really be certain unless Dodge sends me one.

Easy rule of thumb: 1G = 20 mph per second.
That means that 0-60 in 2 seconds is 1.5G. Or, put another way, the Dodge Demon could accelerate straight up (if it could stick to a vertical road).

I remember riding in a friend’s SS396 around 1968, which had been tricked out. Don’t know how powerful but it was a daily driver.
Once when driving along at around 20 mph, he floored it and I was surprised that it literally threw me back against the seat. I don’t think I could have overcome the G force and moved.

(Romans 8:38-39, For I am persuaded.)
"Dodge only achieved its insane acceleration figure by building a car with one seat and drag radials, and that only achieves maximum power with 100-octane racing fuel and a special engine computer."
In other words:
There's a lot
going on here that
you can never buy
at your local dealer...

So, what else can this Dodge thing do? Who would prefer one of them to a Ferrari.
It might be attainable, but it is still a one-trick gimick.
To: cba123
You can find out for $85,000.

It’s a special mod not a stock car. The interior was gutted and they left off the rollout time which basically means that the number is fake.

Consider it done. I know a guy, who knows a guy, you can go to your nearest National Monument and get the keys.

Are the 60’s-70’s drag race wars back? It is great to see the old “Big 3” fighting it out on the drag strip. Grand Spaulding Dodge vs Tasca Ford vs Don Yenko would be a wonderful thing. But we can’t bring it back. The original big block wars will never be replicated.

I don’t think so.
The competition, is currently between a Tesla, vs a Dodge.
Only one of those is a real old-time fast car.
The Tesla is brand new.
Yet the Dodge is still winning. (even if just barely)
