If it’s as good for hand held weapons as the rifle was it will be a success................

The Czechs already make the perfect pistol in 9mm, the CZ-75b.
The 1911 in. 45acp is still the weapon from God’s lips to Browning’s ear :)

Well, I figure that I'll just keep my Warsaw Pact Makarov 7.62x25 CZ-52 ... quite a good hand-cannon ...

It's not THAT odd looking. Look at the H&K VP70:

It looks like the bastard child of a Makarov and a Glock.

I’d try one. Fit and finish looks a little...Russian...but yeah, you can get a good high grip. Reminds me a little of the venerable HK P7. As far as “the AK-47 of pistols,” I’d have to think that the Glock 17 is already there. YMMV.
To: nickcarraway
The AK was a design lifted directly from the German Stuhrmgewehr 44, and a poor copy designed for peasants.
I wonder what inspired the Rus for this pistol.

Looks like a Browning HP 1935/Glock type lockup.
I wonder what the trigger is like. It is clearly not a Glock derivation.

Oddness isn’t the issue, it’s whether the gun is scary or not.
