"Dont dry fire that rascal unless you have replaced the firing pin with a US made one. The originals are very brittle and break easily."
Already did so, along with several other parts that were referred to as "problematic" .. along the same lines as the firing pin .. thanks.

cheap,idiot-proof and moderately reliable and are your only criteria! For a hugely mass produced weapon of war, those ARE the criteria...............and why were you staring at my participle while it was dangling?..............

It looks like the bastard child of a Makarov and a Glock.

I’d try one. Fit and finish looks a little...Russian...but yeah, you can get a good high grip. Reminds me a little of the venerable HK P7. As far as “the AK-47 of pistols,” I’d have to think that the Glock 17 is already there. YMMV.

Standard magazine capacity is what?

Pray tell, what do you consider more reliable than an AK-47?
Offhand, I cannot think of any other battle rifle that is easier to maintain.
Most Russian and many other AK’s are extremely well made if your definition of well made is ‘reliable’.
Accurate - not so much. But adequate for most combat.
Ergonomics - much inferior to AR.
So the AK is more reliable, and easier to maintain than an AR.
It has inferior ergonomics and accuracy compared to the AR.
You can carry less ammo than AR but 7.62 hits harder. I would rather have more rounds of 5.56. (AK-74 anyone?)
Well trained and supplied soldiers are better off with an AR variant. But - I can happily run either.

Czechs always have to be different. I should have known.
Quick research:
Cz-52 is not a Tok (TT-33) but shoots 7.62x25mm Tokarev ammo. Replaced by Cz-83 which shoots 9x18mm Makarov ammo.

Well, it has a whole lot more competition than the AK47 had. At a price point of $150 it may sell if it’s accuracy is on par an AK47 and the competition now.
It looks a little big for concealment.

The AK was ideal for illiterate peasant conscripts...
And Russian philosophy emphasized number over quality...That quantity has a quality of its own...Make ‘em cheap, make a lot...

The AK was a design lifted directly from the German Stuhrmgewehr 44, and a poor copy designed for peasants.
I wonder what inspired the Rus for this pistol.

Looks like a Browning HP 1935/Glock type lockup.
I wonder what the trigger is like. It is clearly not a Glock derivation.

Then of course the Europeans always like complexity in their semi-automatic pistols such as this 1896 Bergmann 5mm:
Or this 1893 7.63mm Borchardt Pistol:
