Hilarious. I respect their “culture of time” but if they are late to a meeting with me they stand outside in the hall.
That may all be true but if my employer says be on time or else, I will certainly find out what it means to be on time
Reminder: Never hire anyone who graduated from Clemson.
The Army does not make exceptions based on race. And what we call “fashionably late, they call “failure to repair.”
Then Clemson won’t mind if they get their tuition checks a couple weeks “late” ...
Just another reason to hate klempsun. Doh!
But I have worked with an incredibly sweet Lady from China who was always early for everything.
No Exceptions.
At the same time I worked with a girl who parents were missionaries and was raised in Uruguay. She could not tell time to save her life!
Drove me absolutely bonkers. A Fifteen minutes break always ranged from 25 to 50 minutes.
Finally, one time when we were really busy I politely suggested she take my watch with her. That break was only twenty minutes. Her best time ever.
So it is cultural.
That part of their culture isn't any good.
Now take a look at China and the Latin American Countries.
Look at what has come out of each over the centuries.
Clemson is actually paying for this absolute crap?
I’m sure Dabo Swinney will keep this in mind for his practices and games. Otherwise, he’s out.
I learned to show up on time when I was a paper boy at age 11. That became reinforced when I had to actually earn a living. I pity the poor snowflakes who haven’t learned that by the end of college.
So finally after all these years C P T is being accepted as culturally operative. Blacks must have a 28 hour day. Do they not see how patronizing this is?
So if whitey is always late for class or just doesn’t go, he fails, but it blackey does the same he graduates with high honors.
Didn’t Hillary say CPT?
I live in Miami. None of the Latinos who I work with show up on time...always at least 15 minutes late...if it is going to be an hour or more late, they may call to advise of that. Then they eat breakfast on the clock. The thirty minute lunch break is at least 45 minutes if they eat at work, an hour plus if they leave to eat. Something changes as it gets closer to time to leave...then they are early....sitting in the lounge for an hour or more before time to leave. Truly amazing to me that this is accepted as the norm.
bottom line: you can fire a white or yellow person for being late, but not a black person. As for Hispanics, there are white hispanics and hispanic hispanics.
Clemson! For God’s sake - the [former] seat of Southern gentility. Clemson!
These are the same loons that scream bloody murder if their flight pushes back 15 minutes late from the gate or has to hold due to some weather at destination
I view promptness as meeting an agreed obligation, like a contract. If you are late, you have breached that contract and I expect that you will continue to breach other obligations that are decided in future encounters.
If you are a contractor coming to me to give me a bid, and you are 30 minutes late. It is a clear indicator of how the rest of the job will go. We will tell you that we have already decided how to go forward with the project and your services are not needed.
He may have his cultural view of time, but so do I. (And I have the money.)
More academic wonderment brought to you by James Clements, President of Clemson University!
Than you Clemson for taking him away from WVU! (Where he left a huge mess!)
Tom Coughlin when he was the first manager of the Jaguars, before moving on to NY Giants, had a policy that included being on time for meetings. One day one of the better running backs was late for the team meeting by about five minutes. Seems he had an small fender bender on the way in. Coughlin reputedly told him that would be a fine (1K?). The player argued he had the accident. Coughlin told him, if you are not five minutes early for meetings you are late! I think all meetings went on from that point forward with everyone there!
Clemson Universitys diversity education and training teaches employees that every cultural perspective regarding time is equally valid, so its wrong to expect people to be prompt
Can’t wait until the students that try this crap out in the workforce get fired and sue the school for teaching such nonsense!
