FORT WORTH--A male died Monday in south Fort Worth after reportedly shooting himself in the head while showing a friend how the safety on his gun worked.
Officers were dispatched about 5 p.m. to a home in the 4800 block of Madyson Ridge Drive, according to a police report.
A 911 caller at the home reported that his friend was holding the gun to his own head when he pulled the trigger and it discharged, said officer Jimmy Pollozani, police spokesman.

Always treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
Safety is no accident.
I would not bet against you.
Violation of at least 3 of the 4 Rules inherent in the act.
Make, Model, Caliber? Facts, we need fax.
Who would do that. Story makes no sense! Suicide? Insurance doesn’t pay on suicides!
And a good chance his friend won’t forget this important “safety lesson”.
this is rapidly approaching Darwin territory
I mean....who actually DOES that....points a gun at their own head...unloaded or otherwise?
Some people are just plain stupid.....and this dude paid for his stupidity with his life.
play stupid games.....win stupid prizes...
Which he did.
Yes and skating safety instructors fall through ice and die, and osha instructors fall to their doom, and driver safety instructors make fatal mistakes too-
FTA.....
Detectives were still investigating Monday night and could not confirm the 911 callers account.

Check the caller for residue. This was either murder or a suicide.
It depends. Length of time the policy has been held is generally the key factor.
My two rules of gun safety.
1) A gun is always loaded, even when it’s not.
2) Never point a gun at something you’re not intending to thoroughly destroy. NEVER.
“Yes and skating safety instructors fall through ice and die, and osha instructors fall to their doom, and driver safety instructors make fatal mistakes too-”
Yes, but none of those sound as funny as a moron with a gun killing himself. And not others.
The industry standard on exception for suicide is policy in force for two years.
“Hey! Hold mu beer and watch this!”
Is it bad that the first thing I did was to check and see if it happened in Florida?
Barney Fife always managed to miss vital body parts
3) Always have on safety glasses
Earplugs and a
Helmet!
List is missing Something...
