CNN Analyst on Syria: Trump has ‘burned all his supporters in spectacular fashion’
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 04/08/2017 12:41:23 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Talk about making lemons out of lemonade. On CNN today Josh Rogin tried his best to paint President Trump’s decision to order strikes against Syria in the worst possible light.

The CNN analyst made the claim that by ordering the strikes, Trump “burned all his supporters in spectacular fashion.”

It’s true that some prominent supporters, notably Ann Coulter, are displeased. But “all” Trump’s supporters? Or even most of them? Surely, a significant majority of people who support Trump support the strikes.

Yes, Trump is gaining support from McCain and Lindsay, now that he’s helping the cause of their beloved Syrian jihadis

With what’s going on in the media right now, I’m not sure who to believe.

Bibi visited with Trump a couple of weeks ago. The King of Jordan visited last week. I would bet that they both gave Trump some real inside information re Assad.

So you support the positions of the people you disagree with? That’s rare.

“I’m a Trump supporter, and even though I don’t necessarily support what happened, I see positive aspects in it, and I don’t feel burned, and I still support president Trump.”

That’s kind-of where I am. I didn’t think the strike was a good idea, and maybe still don’t, on one level. But the law of unintended consequences might have resulted in a tamping down of the hateful rhetoric here. Who knows how it’ll finally play out?

IF this ‘analyst’ thinks that Trump supporters believe that using Chemical Weapons & gassing kids is OK, and that we are mad at Trump for going after the location that attack came from——

Then HE is a sick SOB.

What color is the sky on the planet these creeps live on???

In other news, the Cubs ticked off everyone by winning the world series. At least, in CNN world.

I also have connections on the high side. I haven’t seen it yet but I will look for it when I am back in the office.

I will say I have worked on systems that do remote collection for about 25 years now, and I get to see intel reports. I am not the analyst and I certainly don’t see all raw intel from all sources by any means. I also can’t get into the head of Assad, but having spent some time in the ME in the 90s, I can tell you that the natives there don’t think rationally like westerners. For example arabs and Israelis don’t even think of the other as human, but as animals worthy of shooting. So to wonder why Assad would do this is to try to apply reasoning to a movie villain. He could just be evil.

Trump did was McCain and Hillary have been urging. And I’m supposed to applaud? Sorry, I voted for him precisely because I didn’t want Hillary or her foreign policy. She gave us regime change in Libya, now we’re starting down the same road in Syria

Trump ripped up an airfield and killed a goat and you’re betrayed??

Some of you need head shrinkers.

Agreed. I'm sick of the whining from these fake Trump supporters.

Wrong, I support the positions I agree with. Being a knee jerk partisan just indicates a total lack of core principle.
