I got the week off - just being a brat.
I cut my teeth on the Beatles and Zeppelin and went on from there. (particularly fond of “Houses of the Holy”).
Eventually owning Frank Zappa’s entire catalog (and Dread Zeppelin’s).
Oh, golly, didn’t I just scarmable the Celts, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Normans, Aussies, all in one swell foop.
Well, Errol Flynn was gorgeous, regardless.
Both songs are junk.
“The Who was better
...and they wrote their own songs.”
You will take some heat for that, but I don’t necessarily see it as much of a slight against Led Zeppelin, because the Who weren’t just better than them, they were better than everyone else too.
I’m kind of looking forward to this one. I hope he gets back to his early style, if this one comes out Lock Stock and Two Smoking Excaliburs I’ll enjoy it.
I’ll stack up 5:15 against Gallow’s Pole all day every day.
I might give a little ground on the whole physical graffiti thing though. That WAS somewhat remarkable.
The TKE’s at Michigan Tech had something called the “Brown Room”. First front to back active listening experience with physical graffiti - remember it to this day.
...not as remarkable as Quadrophenia.
...and presence was shit.
I’ll second that. Give me Wagner and Orff to go with my Arthur over Led Zeppelin anyday.
Pretty much guaranteed that Arthur and Lancelot will have some homoerotic romance if they make a movie about it nowadays.
“Who keeps funding Guy Ritchie films?”
I think he got a bunch of Madonna’s cash in the divorce, so maybe he is self-funding.
LOL- you continue to embarrass yourself...
you’ll stack up against 5:15 against Gallows Pole...
meanwhile 5:15 would be a bad B side to The Immigrant Song or Since I’ve Been Loving You or Out On the Tile or Celebration Day
not surprised you would consider Presence sh!t- amazing thing when the group and only the group record their songs...
how’d that “who are you” album do?? sh1t?? that’s be trash like “sista disco”- waste of resources...
Does Madonna pay him alimony?? She’s got the money........
I bet they are doing some PC nonsense to change the standard female villain, Morgan Le Fay, into a male relative.
Yep. Zeppelin were good studio musicians, but had little creativity and were often disappointing when performing live. The Who were even better live than in the studio!
The sword in the rock?
Don’t forget...you need a muzzie too! Preferably played by Morgan Freeman.
I love zeppelin’s work. 80% or better of their work.
A shooting friiend who is into the blues and is, by chance, a black fella...(when CDs were big we would exchange them and make computer copies )
He liked ‘Cream’ as much of their work is blues. “ But I don’t get that Led Zeppelin “. (Also use a lot of blues in their Rock) I told him “....it’s a white thing, you wouldn’t understand “
Yes, but the Muzzie has to be the good guy—the kindest, gentlest, wisest creature in the movie. Loved by all except those evil Christians who are just jealous of how enlightened and culturally advanced Muzzies are.
I liked the 2004 King Arthur more than Excalibur.
I’ve liked both Zep and The Who since the ‘70s. Can’t really say one is “better” than the other.
But, I saw The Who live and they so thoroughly blew me away I can’t imagine anyone being better in concert.
Just amazing.
