As if Atlanta traffic wasn't bad enough already, they've just reported that the Northbound side of I-85 has collapsed.

Not a wildfire just all of my birthday candles lit at one time. Sorry.

Happy Birthday. I hope you get to blowing out all those candles already...

I would never live near Atlanta for a variety of reasons. Traffic is probably number one.

At least it was after the bulk of rush hour. MARTA is going to have a lot new customers tomorrow.

what the heck? Per Pic from link
part of the interstate has collapsed and fire is coming from underneath the part still standing

To: TermLimitsforAll
Could be worse. Could be a quarter-inch of snow.

    DANG.

That's one of the most congested areas in the country - and it's the fast part. Losing an entire bridge span of I-85 is going to make Atlanta traffic basically impassable.

    Car bomb. Islamic terrorist attack.
To: PLMerite
Joke taken and beaten over your head aside, that’s MUCH worse. An entire 8-lane span of the biggest freeway just collapsed entirely. That’s going to be horrible for MONTHS.

Thats a section that goes over a train yard. I wonder what the heck exploded under it to take out that much road so completely.

They need a connector from 400 to 675.

Actually wouldn’t be surprised. Train car, that is. There’s several areas I’ve noticed are susceptible to that in the area.

Disregard link - not related to the fire.
My statement on terrorist attack still stands.
(Mods, please pull my link it's not related to fire)

local media reporting some type of storage containers caught fire under the freeway

A couple bouts of Atlanta rush hour traffic years ago cured me of ever wanting to live there.
