So which flavor of Linux are you contemplating?
Yeah! I bet his username is his password.
(Username=password. Password=password.)
I knew he wrote all the music and lyrics for the Beatles, the Doors, and the Turtles, but technology, too?
“So which flavor of Linux are you contemplating?”
I’ve run Linux Mint mate on my desktop for years.
Love the iPhone SE. You have apple pay now too. Great!!!
The NSA and CIA are not the only spooks. I bet illicit authentication info is traded by the International intelligence community.
You’re probably right. Myself I don’t trust the govt one whit and I certainly don’t give Apple the benefit of the doubt anymore. Not after what happened to me (well really my iPhone) this past year.
Apple is all for the customer, in the customer’s corner? Ha! I have a whopper of a tale that would put that falsity to rest, bigly, and I may just post it someday. But it’s so outrageous some may not even believe it, and I really don’t know if it would help anyone to share it. Suffice to say Apple”Care” is a SHAM, a FRAUD, PERIOD!
But this is another reason I may not post my story. It may get me all worked up again over the entire affair. And it was so horrible part of me wants to just move on with my life.
I can assure you though this is the last Apple product I will be purchasing.
Which brings me to the main point of my post on this thread: when I get another phone, I honestly don’t believe there is any that can claim to be any more secure than another. So anyone can beat up on Apple all they want, I really don’t care. But I’ll never be convinced any phone is secure, for the exact reasons you’ve just described against Apple.
All corporations are possibly in such collision as you allege against Apple. There’s no reason to believe any phone manufacturer is squeaky clean in this area.
Since TrueCrypt development has ceased, VeraCrypt is the forked version which in which development is continuing.
I downloaded it the other day to kick the tires a bit. Seems stable so far.
Apple is the greatest! The incredible, incredible, glorious company.
Any thing you put on your computer can be turned over to the government or hacked into by criminals. Your information was safer when only you had it.
Thank you for putting the "greatest engineering feat of all time" into proper perspective!
“Prove it”
******************
After reading your series of ramblings in this thread, I’ve reached the conclusion that you are a VERY strange bird. I’d uggest that you leave Apple products to those of us who want them in the free market. And you are free to use Google’s Android based phones and do your searches using Google. Then, IN YOUR STRANGE MIND, you can be secure in your privacy.
By the way, prove that you are sane!
Yeah, it’s so much greater than landing men on the moon & bringing them back in space capsules with less computing power than is now commonplace in your phone. It really makes constructing the Empire State Building, the Hoover Dam and the Gateway Arch in a matter of months look puny.
I suppose if you were a genuine Warrior for the Constitution you would go so deep undercover that you would disguise yourself by wearing pink hats to feminist rallies and reciting Karl Marx on CNN. :)
The NSA asked the authors of my favorite encryption system to put in a back door for them. They stupidly obliged and a couple of months later their system was compromised. The company went belly up. I still use the last uncompromised version, but it has no updates or support.
Too funny not to repeat.
Very true. You can bet Google, NSA, or whoever is scraping all content from the site and filing it away. I’m sure they are using meta-data to cross reference usernames to identities as well.
+1
