I’d bet a cup of coffee they’ve narrowed it down to half dozen, give or take.
Is it reasonable to think that they might be spying on us? Yes.
And might they use the information taken from “wiretapping” against us? Absolutely yes.
Are we that naïve? Apparently, some of us are.

Trump as a private citizen, and gave it to Special FBI Agents Walter Giardina and William Barnett, almost two years ago.

Those who you are not allowed to criticize are working their little fannies off to avoid that. If they fail with their usual methods, I see an accident of some sort in the future of he-who-must-not-be-named.

One would expect a ‘smoking Gun’ to have a hell of a lot more fanfare and exposure in the press- Especially after the big announcement that it was coming ‘on friday’- Friday came and went without the public being apprised of the ‘smoking gun’ details, and everyone left wondering why

This “smoking gun” exposes the entire “Deep State” for what it is. Unlike Snowden, Montgomery stayed within the official “Whistleblower” channels, and when that failed, took his information to the FBI. That is why we know a lot about what Snowden found and we don’t know much of anything about what Montgomery found.
The “press” now knows that the Government can track them and expose their sources anytime it wants to do that. The logical conclusion is that all leaks to the press are “approved” by the Deep State, or the leaker will get severely bruised and shot multiple times.
Last I heard, the open hearing with three people who should be the targets of the leak investigation was cancelled and Comey and Rogers are going to come in for a classified hearing instead.
I think Michelle Malkin had the best line: “Lay down with dogs, you get fleas. Lay down with Paul Ryan, you get fleeced.”
You can see why it was important that the press and President were notified before the committee members and spooks. Trump can make any part of the evidence and testimony declassified any time he chooses.
So the deep state will win and Americans are slaves.
