It just seems to me that something this important- especially after being hyped- would be explained in the main stream media (fox news, limbaugh etc) because so many people want justice and were really looking forward to hearing about something that could bring that justice- The fact that it hasn’t been has left many people thinking it was a real nothing claim- and now we have nunes sorta backing off the idea that trump was directly surveillance- handing the left even more ammunition against the right-
When they make a statement “Sources tell fox news that a smoking gun will be proven on friday’ and then not a word about it- it makes folks believe there was nothing to the claim- Many folks got sick and tired of Glen Beck always announcing he had a ‘smoking gun’ that could undo obama’s presidency- only to wait and wait and wait and finally be let down because it wasn’t even close to being detrimental-
It’s an ‘optics thing’ - it just seems that someone should be out front telling the public that yes, they do have it and it’s looking very damaging to the previous president’s claim that he didn’t surveillance trump

The problem with this is Klayman and especially Montgomery.
Reading up on Dennis Montgomery is a depressing task. He’s been shown more than once to be a con-man which may explain why Grassley and Goodlatte and Nunes staffs all blew off he and Klayman. The above link is just one example of articles about Dennis Montgomery, none of them flattering.
I think Nunes has a different source, or multiple sources.
WOW! Unfaltering press articles about a whistleblower! I remember the unflattering press articles about Linda Tripp and Monica Lewinsky. How did that turn out?

Perhaps I chose the wrong word. I’m passing on information about this guy because I assume we’re looking for the truth. I have no doubt at this point that Nunes has met with someone who’s given him some startling info. Just a opinion- he has sources other than Montgomery .
Dennis Montgomery has a reputation of conning people.
The pieces written about him aren’t new.

He learned that Obama drew on this repository to try and help Hillary win, and then to try and damage Trump's transition and presidency. They're probably still digging into the data to further undermine his agenda and to eventually impeach him.
I think the intel agencies reminded Nunes that the same tools can be used against him, his family and friends if he persists. So... he's being forced to say "never mind".
