Never heard of the movie “Juno” until this article. Was hoping there were some FReepers who could tell more.

It’s worth a watch. The acting is good, the story is sweet. And she ends up placing her (Oops!) baby with a decent family.

I thought it was a win/win. *SHRUG*

A teen gets pregnant on her first time. She is going to have an abortion but she is stopped by the "weird girl" who is outside PP who tells her the baby "already has fingernails" as she is sitting inside she becomes acutely conscious of the fingernails on all the people in the room. Finally she leaves and decides to give the baby up for adoption.

Of course the perfect couple she picks turn out to be not so perfect and split up. She ends up letting the baby be adopted by the wife.

I’m so surprised you don’t know this film! It was a huge hit, I know that’s amazing considering...Hollywood. But it was. I think it’s top Oscar was “best original screenplay” or something to that effect and I think maybe the actress that played the part of Juno won the Oscar too. BTW, the woman that wrote it is named Diablo Cody or some such stripper sounding name like that. The Lord really DOES work in mysterious ways and sometimes it seems like he’s pretty much a 4 year old about it.

It really is a very good movie, sad to a certain extent, but very much life affirming in all ways, esp. including the fact that we, as humans, are pretty much fallen failures, but we strive with God’s help.

I was unable to avoid watching Juno as it was shown on a flight back from a deployment, in a row with the screen right in front of me. It’s a sad movie with pathetic, shallow, cynical characters who reflect the lost society of today. It was depressing. Then when I got back to the States I noticed this movie was always placed inappropriately in the children’s movie sections of stores. It’s a brainwashing movie that teaches kid it’s OK to get knocked up and for couples to divorce. Depressing this passes as entertainment.
