Jamie Gorelick’s wall
washington times ^ | 4/15/20014 | washington times

Posted on 03/21/2017 4:36:20 PM PDT by RummyChick

The disclosure that Jamie Gorelick, a member of the September 11 commission, was personally responsible for instituting a key obstacle to cooperation between law enforcement and intelligence operations before the terrorist attacks raises disturbing questions about the integrity of the commission itself. Ms. Gorelick should not be cross-examining witnesses; instead, she should be required to testify about her own behavior under oath. Specifically, commission members need to ask her about a 1995 directive she wrote that made it more difficult for the FBI to locate two of the September 11 hijackers who had already entered the country by the summer of 2001.

On Tuesday, Attorney General John Ashcroft declassified a four-page directive sent by Ms. Gorelick (the No. 2 official in the Clinton Justice Department) on March 4, 1995, to FBI Director Louis Freeh and Mary Jo White, the New York-based U.S. attorney investigating the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. In the memo, Ms. Gorelick ordered Mr. Freeh and Ms. White to follow information-sharing procedures that “go beyond what is legally required,” in order to avoid “any risk of creating an unwarranted appearance” that the Justice Department was using Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants, instead of ordinary criminal investigative procedures, in an effort to undermine the civil liberties of terrorism suspects.

My point in mentioning Al Gore is that Trump can meet with people he disagrees with, without selling out.

Get lost.

She donated $5000 to Trump.

Probably one of those folks who make a living playing both sides.

Here is my post when I posted this thread.

“Old article ....For the youngsters to inform themselves about Jared and Ivanka’s trusted inner circle lawyer.”

Seems to me you are lying claiming I said Donald Trump hired.

Get lost

Kindly quote what I’ve posted that you characterize as an “attack.”

Thank you.

Emanuel said in February 2016 that he was “absolutely” never asked his opinion on health care reform “by Trump people,” and further he knew of “no one else who has been asked.”

That is over a year ago. I am referring to three meetings that Emanuel has had with Trump since the election, where Emanuel was specifically advising Trump on Obamacare amendments.

“Amy Swonger served more than a decade in the federal government where she held positions in the House of Representatives, Senate and Bush Administration. Prior to joining Heather Podesta + Partners, she spent eight years as a government affairs consultant providing corporate and trade association clients with strategic guidance on legislative matters pending before Congress and the Administration in the areas of tax, financial services, health care, and energy.

Swonger began her government career working in the House of Representatives handling health, transportation and veterans’ issues. She later worked in the Senate leadership offices of then Republican Whip Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and then Republican Leader and Whip Trent Lott (R-MS). During her time with Senator McConnell, she served as his floor assistant coordinating Senate floor strategy. As a Legislative Assistant for Senator Lott, she handled tax, budget, health, and trade issues. In Lott’s Whip Office, she coordinated the vote counting process for top legislative priorities. In between Senate positions, Swonger served for three years as Deputy Assistant to Vice President Dick Cheney for Legislative Affairs advocating the President’s policies before Congress.”

It’s not a matter of gloom and doom negativity OR a matter of Pollyanna ignore reality. It’s a matter of looking at the truth. Whatever it may be.

Wouldn’t you rather think there are people trying to educate folks to some facts? Trust me, Jamie Gorelick isn’t Fake News. She’s the real deal. And now she has access. It will grow, it will expand.

This isn’t beating up on Trump, this is throwing a red flag up for his benefit. The guy is smart, he’s quick, but he doesn’t know a lot that we know.

Sometimes the best course is to lay down our defensive posture so we can see ..in order to prepare for bigger battles.

I hope no one would prefer to believe this president is perfect. He has learned an enormous amount, and he’s continuing that process daily.

All we’re doing is sending up road signals- danger ahead, slippery when in swamp, foggy conditions in morning...

“I actually thought Trump had hired her. That was the pitch of your ‘the sky is falling!’ hysterics.”

Look, I really don’t give a damn what you think . Neither do I want to read your posts..

So buzz off. Go tell people how you think it is a great idea that Ivanka and Jared have hired Gorelick.

Whenever I see a Trump-critical article, I look to see who posted it. Most of the time the poster is a person who strongly supports Trump, but as you said, has legitimate concerns. I respect that.

There are a couple of posters, however, who seem to ONLY post negativity about Trump. I do question the benefit of that approach.

It wasn’t exactly what I remembered..more like he didn’t mean Carrier even though he used the name Carrier..and the employee believed he meant Carrier.
