Never saw it...people keep telling me should.
You need to watch it. Then you can understand why Jeb Bush is referred to as "Fredo" and why the GOP needs a "war time consigliere".

I always wanted Puzo’s “Fools Die” to be made into a film. I love that book.

# 13 Michael.SF. | 03/15/2017 3:08:52 PM PDT sent I would reverse it. I like Part II more than Part I. It is the old scenes with DeNiro that make Part II superior IMHO. Yes, I agree the sequel was greater than the original, for several reasons. You mentioned DeNiro ~ but what about Robert Duvall, James Cann, Abe Vigoda, Bruno Kirby? Dont even get me started on the women in that film! I fell like watching GFII tonight! :^)

I’ve never seen any of The Godfather movies either.
To: heterosupremacist
All of the actors in one and II were great!
But who can name the only one in Part I to have won an academy award the previous year?

Probably the most quoted movie in history. Perhaps so, but every time it's not personal, it's just business.

One example where the movie far exceeded the book.

Paramount wanted Robert Redford or Ryan O’Neal for the role of Michael. Coppola hung tough for Pacino. And always remember if Sonny Corleone had EZ Pass he’d be alive today.

I read the Godfather book in the summer of 1970 or 1971. Everybody was talking about the book and who would play the role of Don Corleone. Most of us thought Ernest Borgnine would be perfect for the part. Nobody thought anything about Marlon Brando, who had not worked since he gained about 50 pounds during the filming of “Mutiny on the Bounty”. Brando was washed up at that point in his career.

LOL. IIRC this group was sponsored by the Gambino family. They were saying Don’t call us mafia, signed, The Mafia.
