Saturday Night Live has taken aim at different members of the Trump administration including showing White House strategist Steve Bannon as the Grim Reaper and having press secretary Sean Spicer played by a gum-chewing Melissa McCarthy.

In the most recent episode, the show decided to take a dig at President Trump's daughter Ivanka in a spoof of a high-end perfume ad for a product called "Complicit."

Played by actress Scarlett Johansson, she appears as a glamorous woman attending a fancy party with champagne; the female narrator says in a voiceover, "... A woman like her deserves a fragrance all her own, a scent made just for her because she's beautiful, she's powerful, she's ... complicit."

Later in the now-viral commercial, the narrator asks, "A feminist, an advocate, a champion for women...But, like, how?"

AdChoices It ends with the voiceover line, "Complicit: the fragrance for the woman who could stop all this ― but won't."

According to the Huffington Post, "'SNL' has mocked Ivanka Trump in the past, but this is the first time the sketch show is casting a more critical spotlight on the first daughter. This time, it's attacking her feminist advocacy without reservation."

Wasn’t it none other than Pedo du jeer John Podesta that says she smells like cabbage, urine and farts with a hint of yesterday’s whiskey?

Yup, SNL skits became tedious years ago and why I stopped watching. The lame skits were boring and the payoff was a weak chuckle. I and the Wife watch re-runs of Friends and Big Bang Theory. Because of the many camera angles and the ensemble talent, you can always catch an expression or reaction by one of the cast you’ve missed before. We often LOL to those sitcoms.

“In 1975, how many of the hipsters thought comedy from 1935 was cool?”

A lot of people.

Marx Brothers revival was at its peak. Three Stooges shorts played at the art houses.

“That said, the old stuff with Chase, Curtain, Belushi, and all was really quite good. As funny as Charlie Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy.”

No way. Never.

Most falls flat.

Actually, after Cedric Richmond attacked Kellyanne Conway, the gloves are off with the feminists.

The new rules are: cite Cedric, note that the feminist/Democrat hoor in question didn't stick up for Kellyanne, then get as dirty and filthy as you want.

Is it surprising that liberal dum-cumpster Johansson lent SNL her vd-ridden shell for this?

The Marx Brothers weren’t still performing in 1975.

George Burns was performing in 1935, and still active in making people laugh in 1975.

Groucho Marx had his own one-man show performance in 1972.

The thing about the Marx Brothers is that they are still funny SNL even the old skits just doesn’t hold up The Dana Carvey collection is funny. Ross Perot his george HW the McLaughlin group all funny. But there was no hatred in his impersonations.
The liberals I know say there’s no hatred from the SNLgroup. Ok. Yes there is. And they’re not funny. But what do I know

The mad brothers are just funny. Still

Before anyone else feels the need to come in and tell me how great comedy was in 1935, please answer these questions.

1. Who were “Minnie’s Kids”?

2. Who was “Rochester”?

3. What was the name of the bar that W. C. Fields frequented in the movie “The Bank Dick”?

4. Who was Edgar Bergen addressing when he asked, “How could you be so stupid?”?

If you can come up with the correct answers to all these questions, then you can chew me out.

Some of us really enjoyed the comedy from the 30s.

My point is that the hipsters didn’t want to see comedy from the 30s in 1975.

I didn’t realize we had so many 1975 hipsters here at FR.

Saturday Night is tired.

FWIW, I was 14 in 1975. My father was born in 1932. I have wonderful memories of going into Boston to see Marx Brothers movies with my father in the mid-70s.

I told my friends about the Marx Brothers — they thought I was crazy. My friends liked SNL. My friends did not like 1930s humor.

Your point is well taken — most hipsters didn’t want to see comedy from the 30s in 1975.

I never thought bassomatic was funny.

Bag of broken glass was funny.

They had some funny ideas but they didn’t pull them off well.

Too many drugs.

""Complicit: the fragrance for the woman who could stop all this ― but won't."" This isn't even an attempt at humor. Stop what, exactly?
