The increasing use of vulgar, profane language on many “conservative” websites is getting tedious.
WAAAYY out of date stuff. An autonomous vehicle in 2007 running on a closed course with nicely painted lines delineating the lanes? I see plenty of Google Waymo autonomous vehicles every day on the street around here that are light-years ahead of that ancient DARPA Challenge vehicle. And the Cheetah and Atlas robots are from five years ago and aren’t state of the art any more.
Thanks for posting it, but I can’t imagine why DARPA would create a video featuring such old technology.

Well, technically, it was a vulgarity, not a profanity. A word that has been debased by cultural appropriation by non-Anglo Saxons. But one that was clearly unneeded here.
But isn’t the word profane in it’s original usage? As opposed to, I guess, something medical or legal?

No, the word started as the common Anglo Saxon descriptive for solid excreta (One of the ‘seven Anglo-Saxon monosyllables).
The primary definition of profane is “characterized by irreverence or contempt for God or sacred principles or things; irreligious”, so I reserve ‘profanity’ for such offenses as using the Lord’s name in vain, or other statements that denigrate religion or faith.
The word used is simply a common vulgarity that one might expect from an ignorant or inarticulate person.

Tesla’s cars now have autonomous driving capabilities.
META should look into running that machine, which was tied up, into a forced run.
