Great pick. Loved the instrumental version more than the one with lyrics by Vicky. The harpsichord run is my favorite part.

One of the few purely-instrumental pop recordings ever to make the charts; Mason Williams’ “Classical Gas” and The Village Stompers’ “Washington Square” come to mind as well.

Early in 1968, at the same time "Love is Blue" was riding the charts, another beautiful French import,
Ame Câline (Soul Coaxing) by Raymond Lefèvre was getting airplay on Adult Contemporary and even Top 40 stations. It nosed into the national Top 40 at #37.
