Excuse me. If either party breaks the vows of marriage and/or any previous agreement to the marriage (i.e. through infidelity, criminal behavior, neglect, etc.) the OFFENDING party needs to pack his/her bags. However, if the OFFENDING party is threatening bodily harm to the targeted spouse/partner, then dear targeted spouse - don’t waste your time packing. That is exactly what I did when my ex demanded a divorce. I told her, “you want the divorce, YOU leave.” I thought the optics of that were important for my two teenage sons to observe. Later, they were able to fill in the blanks on their own without my help.

1. HE signed the prior agreement documents.
2. It was not just about her, it was about welfare of her children.
