“All I wanted was a Pepsi....Just One Pepsi!”
Looks like these nuns figured out something 50 years ago that officials in Philly still haven't figured out.
Unreal...The DEM hacks were told a hundred times this would happen, but they protecting their own salaries and pensions.
Oh, but taxes are GOOD! Taxes HELP people!
See, it’s working, people are drinking less sugary drinks - amazing how quickly these things come to fruition. Now, how about paying for those workers to get into new jobs with some of that tax revenu... OUCH, man, don’t you dare go asking about money from liberal pet projects, they’re vicious about protecting it.
Worker layoffs: Philadelphia Freedom.
One of my favorite songs when I was a kid.
Great song.
Not surprised. Sad for those laid off.
Local Philly mainstream news was trying to spin the story to make it look like a success, just bringing in the money at a little slower than expected pace. But the ‘man on the street’ interviews and observations tell a different story. Those who can are driving into the suburbs and buying there, not just sodas/drinks but their entire grocery list. Those who can’t are either doing without or cutting way back. No-one wants to spend these prices for a soda, and it’s not just that, even things like almond milk and some mixed fruit juices, esp. those that kids will actually drink.
Excellent. A couple hundred more adults in the Philly area that will consider voting Trump by 2020 with a new understanding of things.
If only Pepsi donated a little more to liberals’ campaigns!
I don’t feel bad about Pepsi having problems. They were one of Hussein 0bama’s biggest corporate cheerleaders, so much so that they changed their logo to resemble the kenyan’s.
Egad! They have met the food desert creators, and it's them!
Concord, maybe Carlisle, MA has a bunch of trustfunders that passed an ordinance banning the sale of bottled water. Probably based on container volume.
So, it inconveniences lots of people, shafts the local gasmarts, and in times of emergencies (blizzards/hurricanes), reduces the supply of a needed product from the immediate locality.
Hey, we all know cigs were first...cool to hate smokers...tax ‘em 300%. That tax is tapping out. Sugar is the intro tax on fatties...cool to hate fat people....tax ‘em 300% on the cost of sugar. Soon, as sugar is tapped out...it’ll be carbs and meats.
Kenney is mad because “In the mayor’s mind, it seems, distributors and retailers are supposed to eat the cost of the tax and continue selling their products at the same price as before the tax went into effect.”
When did the libs start calling soft drinks “sugary drinks?”
Some time during the Obama years FWICS. The NYC ban on large-size sodas was officially called the “Sugary Drinks Portion Cap Rule”.
Well, Canada Dry is also ditching 25 jobs in Philadelphia. Also announced today.
