That's three bird-ish names and three people who DON'T need to change their names due to a wobbly pol. How many more must suffer when at the outset they could have just followed this one weird trick that prevents you from ever having to change your username again?

My user name is from an obscure line in Star Wars. In 2005 at the Cannes Film Festival George Lucas bashed Bush comparing him to the Emperor. I felt betrayed but since the user name was obscure enough I never felt the need to change it. If I was joining today I would follow your advice in creating one.

I’ve had the same flight inspired handle since before I was a Freeper.

Back in ‘03 I went to sign up on a biker forum (I used to ride). Every handle I came up with was already taken. It was important that I choose something akin to a nickname, because that’s how the biker world rolls. They call each other by their handles in real life.

I began to think something was screwy with the program because it kept rejecting my choices, so I typed in something off the top of my head, and dang if it didn’t take!

I’ve used this handle on every forum I’ve ever signed up for, so it’ll never change. I’ll always be Windy.
