Last month, a Houthi vessel packed with explosives rammed a frigate of the Saudi Navy at high speed, killing two sailors and injuring three others. That small boat was unmanned was an unmanned drone, Defense News now reports, and this may be the first such attack by a drone boat.

The attack on the Al Madinah-class frigate took place in broad daylight on January 30, in the Red Sea approximately 30 miles from the Yemeni port of Hudaydah. Three small boats approached the frigate. One got close enough to ram it, causing a large explosion. The others were "dealt with as necessary", according to the Saudi-led coalition intervening in Yemen's civil war.

"That small boat was unmanned was an unmanned drone,"

So how is this a "suicide strike"?

Nothing a Phalanx or Goalkeeper can’t be programmed to fix. “Unauthorized vessels approaching within 250 meters WILL be sunk without further warning.”

A poor slave robot died.

Remember that Billy Gates thinks that robots should pay taxes.

Sounds like they’re getting less excited about the 72 virgins. Otherwise, why use a drone? Why not let a jihadi do the dirty work, so as to get the reward?

Does this qualify for 72-virgins?

How? The operator committed suicide at the instant
of explosion. Otherwise no 72 virgins.
I don’t think they’ve got the unmanned part yet.

Sort of; but the drone is less likely to be stopped. One hit on a human driver may cancel the hit. A small electronic device would be harder to hit.

For vehicle bombs, they now usually heavily armor the cab, to protect the driver and increase the success rate.
