I remember Ivan spending a lot of time in the old Mid Atlantic area before he went north for good.
He was a great heel, made the faces look like angels.
He teamed for awhile with Nikita Kollof and they were HUGE draws. Especially when they held the tag titles and Nikita held the US title.
Man, everybody was hatin on the russkies!

How fitting. He was Russian. /s. I know he wasn’t Russian. He lived in Greenville,NC home of my Alma mater. ECU. Met him several times. Nice man.

Loved him or hated him, he always put on a good show.
I hadn't heard about George "The Animal" Steele. Same could be said of him.
