Me & Yaelle were talking, CA’s drowning right now, and TX Sunday, to wrassle up rainy day menus.
Dishes you can easily eat while playing card/board games while cooped up? Really, really exotic fare to cook your mind off the sequester? Dinner and a Movie inspirations?

I think that's how the sandwich was invented.
We keep a lot of canned soup on board, in case of power-outage, because it's easy to heat up over sterno. We especially like the Soupman's Lobster Bisque, and lately I've been on a jag of 'Campbell's Slow Kettle Style Kickin' Crab & Corn Chowder Soup'.
Maybe not 'gourmet' fare, but there are a lot of canned soups that really are good, if you need something fast and easy, and even if you don't have power. I'm also a fan of Progresso's lentil soup.

Yeah, txhurl, and guess what I went with? Don’t throw me off the thread but Panda Express. Yes, though normally I cook something special on Friday nights, we went with Kung Pao chicken and General Tso. Shame face!
But tomorrow we will be rained in as well... Need to get to the store and make something fun. This thread will lead me in a direction.
