Tucker has become unwatchable - vanity

Posted on 02/14/2017 6:36:37 PM PST by RightInEastLansing

Tucker has totally lost control of his interviews. The slimy liberals have learned to just talk over him and never let him get a word in edgewise. Too bad, I use to look forward to his show. Now it has become a platform for the rabid, insane left.

For those of us *oldsters* who remember...

Every week, American intellectuals, artists, and athletes would engage in debates with William F. Buckley on the issues of the day. “You could watch the show as a conservative, and become a better conservative, more informed conservative,” Hendershot said. “But you could also watch it as a liberal, and become a better liberal and a more informed liberal.”

I think Tucker is trying to appeal to millennials; he could take debate lessons from Ted Cruz. 8-)

I’m not totally convinced that millennials would sit through a whole debate; their attention span is around 30 seconds. PFFT!

If you only listen to *one* side, you’ll never grow your ideas. Sez me.

How do you square his unwatchable show with the ratings he is pulling down? He is getting a huge audience no?

An excellent theory and well explained.

I am not certain about millennials and the Milo crowd or even the Z generation, however I think we are all dramatized out, quite over-stimulated from the constant ideological warfare going on everywhere. Families don’t need it, neighbors don’t need it, communities don’t need it.

There is still something to be said for balance and for learning truth, and a little of virtue, without the drama, although, the truth is dramatic enough. Chaotic thinking, chaotic conversations, framed in political terms, are plainly props for political shenanigans and have run their course.

My own diagnosis is that people love to learn. Gorka is a favorite of mine. He is experienced, knowledgeable and intelligent. There are many like him who need to be heard and should be on TV during these hours that are inclusive of the Left, wasted on the insane and the vulgar for more tribulation ratings.

Passions are rising. When they reach their natural boiling point, we will regret what we have indulged and made important.

Milo has been all over FNC; not just on with Tucker.

Milo was on with Tucker first via telephone the night of the UC Berkley riots. Then he was on with Tucker, in studio, the following night. Then it was the rest of the Fox News Lineup, i.e., Judge Jeanine and others who had him on. So you're quite incorrect about your facts.

And just WHAT "rules" is Tucker using...KEEP QUIET AND LET THE GUEST RUN THE SHOW, WHILE YOU SIT THERE LOOKING LIKE THE IDIOT YOU ARE, and THAT is "winning" the hearts and minds of the Milo following Millenials? REALLY? Then WHY do they LOVE Milo, when he slams the morons, so?

The same rules Milo uses. To troll them into outing themselves as the leftist tyrants that they are. Asking seemingly innocuous questions that further solidify in the minds of the viewer how batsh*t crazy these people are. If you've ever watched a Milo college tour speech on YouTube you'd know that's a standard Milo tactic.

These millenials aren't dumb. The whole CNN Crossfire model is defunct, which is apparently what some people want to see. Or the model of two guests shouting over each other and whoever has the last word, wins. These are old tactics of a bygone era.

I don't know how old you are, where you live, nor anything else about you; however, the answers to those things ( and no, I'm NOT asking you to tell me about yourself! )might be why we see this so differently...or not. LOL

Yes, yes, THE IDIOT ON THE STREET segments are so old, they're hoary with age, but the funny bits, in between, is what makes WATTERS WORLD so funny and different.

Giving the lunatics at large, free reign, doesn't help and the Millennials already know, full well, what these people are like, what they say and stand for, so they aren't getting any "enlightenment" by watching Tucker's show.

Also, Millennials are the ones watching YouTube videos, so know this stuff, COLD, long before Tucker ever has them on.

My point and that of others here and out there, in REAL LIFE, who don't like the show, is that IF we wanted to see those people rant on, in a completely unfettered way, there are endless other places we can see and/or hear them, other than on FNC.

And Tucker has had shows on both CNN and MSNBC, so should know that FNC is supposed to be different; though truthfully, sometimes it isn't.

And that is so very true. There is a bifurcation amongst Millennials who have come to the realization that they were lied to. All these kids who we rightly deride as having participation trophies and being told they can make $100k majoring in gender studies. Most of them are angry. And they fall into two camps: the Bernie Sanders' camp who say they want what's coming to them. These are your ANTIFA protestors. And the other who say this didn't work, I was lied to and there has to be another way. Some soul-searching going on there.

Generation Z, those born after 2000, see what's going on and want nothing to do with it. I've heard it said this generation will be the most conservative since the WWII generation. So there is reason to hope.

My own diagnosis is that people love to learn. Gorka is a favorite of mine. He is experienced, knowledgeable and intelligent. I love Gorka too. And was thrilled when he got a post in the Trump administration. He's part of Bannon's Strategic Initiatives Group so he's working on long-range planning that will defeat Islamism. I trust he has the right ideas.

Passions are rising. When they reach their natural boiling point, we will regret what we have indulged and made important.

Passions are rising, yes. A lot of my FB friends cheered the resignation of Flynn. I had to remind them of why Trump got elected. This is America's last chance. After that I can envision a very violent future for the United States. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

all he had to do was let her talk. he is not trying to win the argument when he has theses people on. what he is trying to do is expose there faulty reasoning for all to see. and show how bent they are. tuckers mode of doing this is giving them enough rope to hang themself.

Who are you? You are not the typical news junk brain, but informed, by experience, or else keenly sensitive to the real and the practical science of generational social change.

I want to see Tuck succeed. Who else do we have as a young, Conservative in the media?

Only one that comes to mind is Tomi Lehren.

I don't know how old you are, where you live, nor anything else about you; however, the answers to those things ( and no, I'm NOT asking you to tell me about yourself! )might be why we see this so differently...or not. LOL

LOL! Let me put it this way. I'm a Gen X'er. So that means I can appreciate the trolling mentality of millenials and then go watch Newt give a speech at Heritage on Trumpism or watch Peter Robinson have an interview with a noted economist or historian at the Hoover Institution at Stanford. So I straddle both worlds.

Yes, yes, THE IDIOT ON THE STREET segments are so old, they're hoary with age, but the funny bits, in between, is what makes WATTERS WORLD so funny and different.

I've watched a few. But to completely honest, I find them so cringe-worthy and embarrassing I find it hard to watch. It's a form of self-denial. I can't watch the train wreck. I freely admit that. I guess I'm just too squeamish.

Giving the lunatics at large, free reign, doesn't help and the Millennials already know, full well, what these people are like, what they say and stand for, so they aren't getting any "enlightenment" by watching Tucker's show.

Some millenials are beginning to wake up and I think we should all celebrate that. I think the enlightenment they are getting from Tucker is the scope of the problem. We have to remember these kids don't have the benefit of history. Oh sure they can Google it, but is 1968 really ingrained in their psyche? For most of them it's a theoretical exercise. They have to be shown. Even I wasn't around for '68 but for most here it's merely a re-run. They've seen it all before. So I'm in favor of any outlet that tells the American people what's going on. Whether it's YouTube for the younger folks or Fox News reminding the older folks.

Also, Millennials are the ones watching YouTube videos, so know this stuff, COLD, long before Tucker ever has them on.

I'd definitely agree with you there. Cable news media has become superfluous. But then I consider all of the people here on FR who proudly proclaim, "I don't use Facebook, Twitter, etc." Their use of YouTube is questionable. Heck I was posting threads of Trump's tweets for a couple of weeks because it was being done shoddily. But I just couldn't keep up with The Donald.

And Tucker has had shows on both CNN and MSNBC, so should know that FNC is supposed to be different; though truthfully, sometimes it isn't.

We will see what becomes of Tucker. Right now he's maneuvering in that gray area between what Fox Corporate wants and the seismic shift occurring in the culture amongst the young. Yeah, Tucker isn't going to go all Milo and say, "Why are you wearing a hijab, you're in the United States." So let's see how this plays out.

I have noticed he has been a little off his game lately though. That Asian school teacher walked all over him the other night. She was despicable and nasty.

I noticed that, myself - but attribute it to his allowing especially nasty "guests" to dig themselves ever deeper into a hole.

In extreme cases, after all, it isn't really even necessary to attempt to refute or counter your opponent's talking points - the points themselves are so absurd.

Regard,

Tucker’s first few shows were okay. Then it got boring. Same weird facial expression as he just let the crazies drone on and on.

I’m sure his intent is to let everyone see just how crazy they are and let that speak for itself.

But all it does is to turn off patriots who would rather see him eviscerate their foaming-at-the-mouth rantings.

So I just stopped watching the youtube videos of his show.

There is a promising new (to me) young conservative lady who I have started viewing on the internet: Tomi Lahren. I don’t know if she has a show, but if she does, IMO, it would be worth watching.

Tucker needs to do a last word summary where he clearly makes his point crushing the guest. He’s playing rope a dope too much and needs a few more knock out punches.

It’s his show and he has the bully pulpit. He should use it for final commentary to point out the hippocracy.

I told you that I was NOT asking your age, region, etc., but since you offered some info, please don't go all goofy on me, when I use the info.

First of all, most people here either weren't adults in '68 and/or didn't live in the hot spots. What they know about it all they got from T.V, movies, T.V., programs, newspapers, stuff on line, or vague memories. Some were babies, toddlers, of kids.

Some were adults and some did live where it was all going down; though that, alone, doesn't guarantee that they know much either.

Yes, to some of us, it is kind of a rerun/repeat; however, the old saying holds true...the first time it's a tragedy, the second time...a farce. But this isn't a "farce"; it's something else, something I can't quite put a name to.

My Godson is an older Millennial, as is his wife and their friends, so I know a lot of Millennials, that way, as well as some friends' adult kids. I don't know any college age ones, so I can only go by what I see on T.V. and yes, YouTube.

I'm one of those whom you are sort of ridiculing...I don't have a FB page ( though some of my friends do have one ), I don't do TWITTER, but others my age and older and younger do. And no matter what you assume, I DO watch a LOT things on YouTube; from Trump's rallies, to people's political rants/discussions, to Milo, to operas, operettas, and even country music and instructional stuff.

So you need to just get over that. ;^)

You can't bear to watch THE MORON ON THE STREET, because it's "cringe worthy", but you enjoy watching the far MORE cringe inducing crapola on Tucker's show? LOL

Tucker got GREAT audiences, at first, because 1) many people who had stopped watching FNC at that hour came back to see what it would be like AND even though many of us don't like O'Reilly, he has a HUGE following and it's a great lead-in.

To understand what '68 and inward was REALLY like....ask people who not only lived through it all, but who also lived where the garbage went down. If you can't find anyone to ask....FRmail me. :-)

And David Knight’s voice is like nails on a blackboard. That may sound odd, given that he’s a baritone. But he overpronouces everything. He bites down hard on every single consonant. And he has that annoying Southern thing where he inserts glottal stops all over the place: PENT-cil. In-VENT-tion.

I download Alex. If David Knight hosts an hour, I skip it. All the time he’s talking, I’m seeing razor-sharp teeth, biting off syllables like a beaver attacking a tree.
