The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning effective 7:00 A.M. Sunday morning until 1:00 P.M. Monday afternoon for Chenango, Cortland, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Northern Cayuga, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Southern Oneida, Tompkins and Wayne counties.
A storm system is forecast to move eastward out of the Ohio Valley this weekend and rapidly strengthen off of the Northeast US coast Sunday into Monday.
Initially, some rain/freezing rain is possible in central New York Sunday, but as the storm strengthens, colder air will be drawn southward into our area. This will change the rain to snow.
If everything works out close to what were thinking, Monday mornings commute will be slow and treacherous.

so how much did you end up with?
It’s stopped snowing. We got at least 8 inches. B’ville and Phoenix schools closed. Fulton and Oswego delayed 2 hours.
Looks like we ended up with a foot.
And the stuff is back-breakingly heavy. It’s BRUTAL to shovel.
I noticed that up north there’s only delays but all the way south until you get almost to Binghamton, everything is closed. I check the WSYR closings and delays.
Looking at the radar, there’s more on the way, although if it’s lake effect as it looks like it is, it will be much lighter and easier to shovel.
i feel for you. we dodged the bullet and got ~1" of ice/slush over the weekend, nasty roads but nothing to shovel with another band coming in off the lakes today
stay safe
