The right thing to do was to leave it there in the water and motor on to the next fishing spot. Even the cops can’t always be trusted. Some fish have to be thrown back.
45 pounds of coke will get you life.
“We’re gonna need a bigger boat!”
Oh, wait...
Dumb@ss.
“I would like to let the public know the dangers and what not to do if this situation comes about, said Breeding”
I thank this guy for warning me to not become a cocaine dealer ...
It was a cold blooded decision to go into the drug business.
I cry no sad tears.
I didn’t read the whole article, but from the excerpt, I didn’t see where he made a “mistake.” He made a conscious decision to break the law and tried to profit from it. ridiculous reporting like this is as much fake news as CNN.
A similar thing happened to me years ago. We were in Florida fishing for grouper, when we saw a floating object. We hauled it on board and saw what it was. We absolutely panicked. Our first thought was that the guys who lost it would come back and kill us. We busted it up and threw it over, so it would sink. We then realized we had coke all over the deck, and thought we’d get busted by the Feds who were chasing the guys who dumped the coke. We sped back to dock and washed the boat. Crazy day. We had grouper at a fish camp.
If his story of just “finding” the package is true, I think he was lucky, although the saga is not yet over.
The people who intended to pick it up probably consider what he did to be theft, and they frequently resolve this kind of issue with no court involvement.
OTOH, “finding” the package might not be as accidental as he claimed.
Twenty Kilos...
Ring The Bell...
Run Like Hell..!
Unless you’re a miserable old Fart
Wanting to”retire,”
The guy is a drug dealer who got caught and the lying media wants us to have sympathy for him.
Leave it alone. Could be DEA “bait.”
Finding a compressed bale of $20.00 bills washed up on a Gulf shore beach is at the top of my bucket list.
The smart thing to do would be to sink the package. That way there is zero potential for anyone getting into trouble.
I have no sympathy for the guy that got caught selling the stuff.
I wonder where he found his gun.
I remember some duck/goose hunters ended up dead for being in the wrong place at the wrong time near Freeport TX in the late 70’s. They just happened to be near where the transfer was to take place. We hunted in the same area.
Spent some time in a Central American coastal village. Occasionally, you’d see someone in a fancy new pickup truck, or building a rather grand house.
“How does he afford that?”
“Oh, he just caught a ‘whitefish’.”
He might not have an opportunity to do any more Breeding.
Hope he learned his lesson.
