I don't know what has changed in society, but I am done.
The stupid protests of the last week have pushed me over.
I'm going to limit my Facebook presence
I really need to move out of California, but my husband has work here.
I'm beginning to think the terrorist have won because they have split our nation.
They complain about bullies and they are the biguest bullies of all.
Most of these people are paid protesters. Most of our country is not like this. The media only pays attention to what it wants to. You only hear about the violent loudmouths, not all the good, decent people out there.
Not in California. Even women from my church went to the Women’s March.
The professional protestors don’t bother me that much. It’s friends that bother me.
i quit fb years ago due to the total lameness factor.
i still maintain a couple of “fake” fb accounts to use their login credential to auto-login to hundreds of sites that allow commentary by their readers.
Yes. I completely agree. We need more FRiends here. Cobb, Paulding, Bartow and Cherokee counties are very nice.
I’m sorry to hear that, I don’t know anyone that went to that march. We moved to a very conservative state a few years back after living in a very liberal one. The difference is night and day.
Exactly
Agree 100%!
You’re right about the country being split. Fortunately we’re on the winning side now. Finally. Thank you Lord!
The terrorists didn’t split our nation: the left did.
You are being bullied by your lefty “friends.” Ditch ‘em.
Principalities. Pray for our country. Move here to Texas after your husband retires. Go outside Austin.
Parts of Tennessee would be a great choice.
I’m using FB to approach some very liberal friends I haven’t seen for years. They never grew up. I’m hoping to lead by example so they do. As a friend it is my obligation to reach out.
Why bother? Liberals never reach out to conservatives.
One, I've stopped posting political posts myself. The elections over, we won, and I'm not going to change the minds of my rabidly liberal relatives by Facebook anyway. This election was proof of that.
Two, since I'm not posting political posts, no one else gets to have them on my timeline either. I have a few stuck-on-stupid relatives who are still posting a steady stream of anti-Trump crap. I unfollowed them ( not un-friended them) so I don't see ANYTHING they post. I'll check back every few days to see if they're un-stuck on stupid, and if they ever reform I might follow them again, but at least I don't have to put up with it if I don't want to.
Three, I've created an alternate Friends list that includes all my friends that are reasonable, and excludes the ones that aren't. I can post what I want and share it with people that share my values, while not cutting off all ties to family, which in my experience, can cause bitterness for generations.
that’s the problem with Facebook. Zuckerberg propounded
and delivered a system where one did not have a work identity,
a family identity. just one.
And when there’s a sizeable percentage who deny to others
the right to have any difference from them, the utility
degrades rapidly.
Segmented identity works well. One can give and receive
advice on e.g. medical issues or software problems
when it’s understood that other issues are “off topic”
