Nothing like knee jerk liberals trying to kill the Golden Goose.

New Orleans is a 24/7 place. Why bother to go there if they start closing places down at 3. Besides, comparatively the French Quarter is a low crime area.

Another thing, crime used to be lower in The Quarter before they started tying the hands of the NOPD and before the State Troopers came in.

Crime low in the Quarter? I worked with someone in the credit card business, who told me that disproportionate numbers of lost credit cards, pickpocket victims, were reported from the French Quarter. Just what he told me.

Agreed.

And they’re not being honest with themselves. It’s not the mostly white young people partying on Bourbon Street causing most the violence in New Orleans.

There’s an elephant in the room and no one wants to see it. Sort of like all the violence in Chicago.

People going into a bar a 3:00 am?

What, did they just fly in from 5 time zones away?

Yes, of course. Because nothing bad could happen between midnight and three.

I was on Bourbon one night after a Greek festival. All the bar owners were trying to close down without admitting they were closing down because in insane fashion, the local government didn’t want them to close down because closing down meant RACISM. Poor bar owners in that very great city.

Closing the Big easy should reduce crime there.

"I don't see what the point is in it," said Earl Bernhardt,

It's quite simple, Mr. Bernhardt, liberals want to control every aspect of your life.

Bourbon St. Webcam. Any Freepers awake at 3:00am central and can check it please report back as to activity on the street. It’s 11:18 central right now and it’s cranking.

On Freemont Street in Vegas there’s around 50 undercover officers on duty at any one time and you’ll lose money trying to guess who they are. They work the crowd of people walking up and down the street. When the light show starts is when they really keep an eye out for purse snatchers and pick pockets and they remove then with the efficiency of a special ops team, quick and quiet. New Orleans needs to do the same thing.
