Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, the world’s largest, has removed US arms giant Raytheon from its blacklist after it stopped manufacturing cluster weapons, Norway’s central bank announced on Wednesday.

The fund, worth around 7.42 trillion kroner (€830 billion, $892 billion) and which is subject to strict ethical guidelines, excluded Raytheon from its portfolio in 2005 because of its role in the production of these weapons.

International campaigners have long sought a ban on cluster weapons because of the serious danger they pose to civilian populations. …

War by definition is immoral. War should be avoided if at all possible.

If one must go to war the entire infrastructure of the enemy be it be military or civilian is a legitimate target as they are an integral function of the enemy’s war machine. If they are adults they are part of the war machine. If they are children they are a terrible tragedy in their death. Their death is a result of their leaders and not those opposing their aggression.

The way to avoid war is to make it so insanely horrible and evil as that no one but the insane will attack you. If they attack you one must destroy their whole society from top to bottom and innocents will perish. If you do not those innocents will one day be warriors against you.

War is evil, war is immoral, but if one must go to war it should be a war of total annihilation. If one has this philosophy and strength of arms, you will not need to go to war. The enemy will tremble at the prospect of war if he is sane.

Those that are insane and wish war with you should be taken out before they choose war. The insane will start a war that they can not win. It is better to kill them first before they try to kill us.

Kim Jong of North Korea frequently threatens to launch nuclear missiles at us. Kim Jong with a moderate nuclear force could render our society non functional with EMP effects from high altitude nuclear explosions. Our national electric grid and most high tech technology would be gone. It would be very ugly.

One 250 kiloton weapon on the day he says this again would stop this crap.

China and Russia would protest but they would not engage in thermonuclear war over this miserable maniac. They nor we wish to die. China and Russia are rational. Kim Jong is not rational.

Short Raytheon. The last time Norway bought stuff it was toxic mortgage backed securities.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

— Revelation 19:11

There is a rank due to the United States among nations which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it. If we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known that we are at all times ready for war.

George Washington, Fifth Annual Message to Congress, 12/03/1793

The history of man is the history of war.

— Winston Churchill
Not all war is immoral, even by definition. Bellicose aggression motivated by avarice would be immoral, certainly, but not vigilant acts to secure the safety of a nation. Only after the Second Coming can war be avoided.

I believe that Washington agrees with the point you are making, though.

Norway is leftist, which means it is necessarily thumb-sucking stupid and intellectually-inbred.

As leftists, they only stand for meaningless slogans and are hypocritical to the nth.

A 500lb bomb is gentle while a cluster bomb is mean?
