FULL TITLE: Rate of IUD insertions DID go up after the election: Huge data set reveals 19% increase in women getting coils since Trump's win in November
The rate of women getting and requesting intrauterine devices (IUDs) has rocketed since Donald Trump was elected president, new data reveal.
IUDs - a contraceptive device that can last up to 10 years - became a hot topic after the election.
The interest was largely driven by fears Trump's healthcare reforms would limit access to contraception, or affect insurance funding that makes the Pill free.
Now, a large data set has confirmed what many suspected: the number of doctor's visits related to IUDs has indeed gone up - a staggering 19 percent in two months.

Thank you for your post. I’m in complete agreement with you. There’s nothing to celebrate here
WHAT sells for five bucks in most stores?
Are you talking about a pack of condoms?
Girls/women with IUDs virtually never use condoms. They have the impression that if they have an IUD they’re good to go. The males think the same.
You know ANYbody who doubles up on contraceptives? Seriously.
I’ve seen studies showing that STD’s skyrocketed both in Britain and in California when the “long-lasting” contraceptives were made available to girls.
Suffering.
Disease.
Long-lasting.
No joke.
I apologize. It’s obviously something you take very seriously.
I really meant no harm in the comment.
And OF COURSE I know nobody is born liberal. IT WAS A JOKE :)
Your points are well taken, however.
I didn’t read your reply cause it was probably angry. And rightly so.
And I sent the APOLOGY BEFORE I received your post so that should let me off the hook!! :)
I get it. Thank you for this gracious response.
And during O it was gun sales.
FYI, I do pre IUD insertion examinations free of charge.
“Limit access”—a euphemism for “taxpayers won’t pay for other chicks’ contraception.”
When I’m wrong, I’m wrong. Happens about six times a day :)
And using WTF and ####s with a lady is wrong.
I am trying to change my behavior in the new year.
Again I apologize and yes, it makes no sense to put your self at risk like that.
Did either of you not see my first comment? How quickly we have forgotten the Dalkon Shield? This IUD has copper in it too! Just wait 20 years from now you know there will be trouble.
IUD? It really WAS like an IED in your tenderest part.
If --- for instance --- Conservatives, or the Catholic Church, were the ones advocating this sabotage of normal female sexual function, we'd be denounced as woman-haters, on a par with Somali FGM enthusiasts. But if you package it as "women's rights" --- How pathetic is our feeble-minded human race.
What do I know? I’m an idiot. Half the board knows that and you’re just finding out :)
I don’t want to see women get sick but we live with the choices we make. That info IS out there, I assume.
Boy I hope the sex is worth it to take that risk!!
Reading what you and Mrs. Don O wrote, it doesn’t sound it.
And I’m not old enough to remember it? I remember when IUD’s were banned for a while because of. Now they brought them back. They don’t learn do they?
IUDs? Call the bomb squad!!
Even at mid 1980s prices, that was STILL a bargain price for the fun we had.
I'll bet limited access to abortion, to PP, was in the minds of these women, not the pill. Anyone doing true journalism to confirm or disprove?
Evil sowing the seeds of it’s own destruction. Rat voters having fewer children means fewer future rat voters.
Leviticus 20:3
And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
So why go with the IUD as opposed to the pill? Unless these women have contraindications for the pill? Like obesity? Smoking? Cost issues?
Condom use falls when teen girls opt for IUDs vs. the Pill
Also noticed a lot of articles in the past 2 years hawking IUDs. That's interesting.
