The Pentagon rubbishes Russian claims of joint air mission over Syria as 'propaganda'

The US Military has rubbished claims Russian fighter jets have flown their first combat mission in Syria alongside American-led coalition forces. US Marine Major Adrian JT Rankine-Galloway completely dismissed the claims from the Kremlin on Monday afternoon. 'The Department of Defense is not coordinating airstrikes with the Russian military in Syria,' a statement read.

In other words....as usual....Russia and allies got the kill....not the USA.

The US Military command over there needs to be brought to heel very quickly. They have so much time and emotion invested in the removal of Assad and blocking Russian attacks on rebels as their primary goal, that they seem not to want to change direction.

Agreed. But I think Mattis and Trump know this and plan to rectify this after a little scouting and picking the guys they can trust. Trump plays 5-D chess. His trip to the CIA was scouting of the leadership there. The media— and I’m sure the CIA folks— never suspected this. But why assume they would? They are government employees who have never dealt in the hyper-sophisticated world of NYC billionaire deal-making, where you’ve gotta size up things and read people very quickly. Under Trump the IC (and everyone else) has gotta raise his or her game.

I have this gut feeling that before the year is out, you’re going to see a de facto US-Russian alliance.
