What was once Episode VIII is now The Last Jedi.
When cameras started rolling last year on the eighth film in the Skywalker family story, writer-director Rian Johnson used the tongue-in-cheek working title Space Bear, and numerous rumors (most of them false) about the possible real title have circulated ever since.

Remember, we’re told that Luke has a daughter somewhere, and Rey is an abandoned orphan. (We meet her as a scavenger on the garbage planet Jakku.)
She gets caught up in the Resistance as part of Poe Dameron’s effort to find Luke (he’s been sent by Leia.) And she winds up being the one who walks up to him and offers his lightsaber (which would be the instrument for training new Jedi.) That’s where we left it.
Now, all those loose ends are hanging, and you would expect Rey to be his first new student — and you would expect Luke’s child to be a Jedi.
So I’m putting the pieces together and guessing that Rey turns out to be Luke’s daughter. It’s a guess, but it wouldn’t surprise me if I’m right.
We’ve seen a lot of family connections in Star Wars — Leia is Luke’s sister, Vader is their father, Kylo Ren in “The Force Awakens” was Leia and Han’s son (and thus, Luke’s nephew.) And remember that Luke’s lightsaber calls Rey to be the one to deliver it. I’d bet that there is a connection there somewhere.
Luke’s Jedi son will go back in time to become his grandfather.
