A powerful electron microscope located more than 100,000 particles on old the JCPenny tie. The team has identified particles like Cerium, Strontium Sulfide, and pure titanium...
The tie went with him into these manufacturing environments, for sure, so he was not one of the people running these (manufacturing machines). He was either an engineer or a manager in one of the plants,

It certainly could be something like that. Sods Law tells me though that it’s probably a bit more complicated than is being suggested in the article. Still, it’s certainly an angle worth pursuing. I do still believe he more likely died in the jump than not. People who worked with this material should certainly be looked at, and If someone working with this material went missing around Nov 1971 then there is a decent chance he’s our man.
I guarantee a couple are still flying salmon out of Alaska every year. When I was at King Salmon during the salmon season, every heavy plane since WWII was represented. They don’t even care about the FAA—the fines are just part of doing business.
Maybe he bought the tie at goodwill?
Maybe DB didn’t parachute out but, as an aircraft engineer, knew where to access a pressurized hidy-hole in the plane itself. He hides there and then slips out dressed as an aircraft technician, FAA inspector and just walks away.
Sod’s Law certainly throws up that possibility.
I’ve heard of parachute clubs renting 727s to jump out of like DB Cooper.
This wouldn’t explain the money that was found. Sure, it could have blown out the plane but that must be considered an unlikely scenario imo.
If Boeing still has their personnel files from back then they could check to see if anyone limped into work the next day, or never came back at all.
Was BD DB’s brother?
Yep, twin but only reversed....
Yes it was Joe Sutters Nephew
Ah the fun of CE/T night jumps from high performance AC

>> “Was DB Cooper a Boeing employee?” <<
No, he was a High School electronics teacher.

John Travolta does barrel rolls with his.

He’s almost 90 years old, and I don’t believe he is a freeper.

That sounds pretty specific...
One olace rare earth elements WERE used back then and even earlier was in production of color TV cathode ray tubes. CRTs.
Same here...

He was obviously experienced. You don’t pull off a stunt like that and not know how to properly skydive. He was someone who knew the money was on the plane, and had certainly skydived before. He knew exactly what he was doing. The area has been scoured, they never found a body. I believe they found some of the money, but not a significant amount. He made it, and I bet the bills are in circulation.
