A powerful electron microscope located more than 100,000 particles on old the JCPenny tie. The team has identified particles like Cerium, Strontium Sulfide, and pure titanium...
The tie went with him into these manufacturing environments, for sure, so he was not one of the people running these (manufacturing machines). He was either an engineer or a manager in one of the plants,

He landed in the feedlot at Dave’s Rottweiler Farm... at least according to Gary Larson.
Is anyone still flying 727’s?
He did survive
I agree.
Survived, but never spent any of the money?
How do you know? They did find one pack of the money decaying in a creek but i think that was it
If they compare the sketch to Boeing Employees and contractors at the time, they may find their man
Bkmrk.
None commercially in the US. Might still be a few hauling cargo in some third-world country.
DB Cooper, if still alive, is likely currently a FReeper IMHO.
I think Cooper probably died in the jump, but cannot pretend it's beyond reasonable doubt. What I would say is that if he died then he likely would have been reported missing if he were in regular employment at a place like Boeing. Though he could have been an ex employee.
This find is definitely of interest, but let's everyone not jump to conclusions about him working for Boeing. Im certain other places also used these rare earth elements.
Rather strange design.
Perhaps he worked in a fireworks company. Sounds like the chemicals used to make different colors of fireworks.
I agree-I think he survived and lived very quietly so as not to attract undue attention-MrT5 was convinced he went to Canada to live-and most people knew then how to launder small bills, like the ones Cooper specified he would get-it is much harder now to launder even small bills unless you own a business or know a drug cartel capo...
SST program lost funding in March of 1971. Layoff???
Passenger version of a cargo plane (USAF CX-HLS competition) saved Boeing—designation 747. Lockheed had won the military contract with the C-5 Galaxy. Everyone expected passenger service to be by SST, until the sonic boom issue over land derailed even the Concorde which was already in flight testing 1969.
I did one night jump, on a military post, flat open terain,
A large fire in the DZ, to home in on.
About a mile away a group was having a campfire!
One very experienced individual homed in on the wrong fire and came down in some trees.
They found him OK still in the harness.
When ask why he did not climb down his reserve (S O P).
He said, he could not see the ground and did not know if the reserve would safely get him down.
Tall dense woods, freezing rain and ol’DB is not experienced at this.
A shattered ankle or two and you will not get very far.
Oddly yes. Wiki:
Northwest Airlines retired its last 727 from charter service in June 2003. The 727 is still flying for some smaller start-up airlines, cargo airlines, and charter airlines. Many airlines replaced their 727s with either the 737-800 or the Airbus A320; both are closer in size to the 727-200.
I miss Gary Larson. His cartoons were always very entertaining.
