The fact that this book's ad was meant to be serious is what I thought was funny!
How many themes can you pack into one paperback? Vikings, ISIS terrorists, vampires, dude ranches, romance, angels, world class chefs, transporters, cults, ..... did I miss many?

I have to say as a writer... I think this is BRILLIANT! It may suck as a story, but it doesn’t matter. It grabs your attention and the first step of getting someone to buy your book is getting them to read, and remember, your back cover.
It sounds dreadful... and will probably be a bigger hit for Avon.

I am a professional writer, and you are correct... This is breathtakingly funny in a bad way.

The writer only gets partial credit. No Amish. That could have been tied into the cult. High speed cross country buggy chases.
And now that I reflect some more, no Steampunk, either. The 10th Century vikings needed steam powered airships.

It’s actually a very popular genre. I have a bookaphile who calls it ‘Weird Fantasy Romance.’ I think the official subgenre is Paranormal Romance.

Cnut?
I’m amazed this flew as a romance hero’s name. Esp. this easily-mistaken spelling IYKWIM.

Cnut Sigurdsson.
Make a great FReep name. If you see a newbie named Cnut - IT WON’T BE ME!

Female writer picking Cnut as the name of the hero . . .
Makes typos interesting for the editor I suppose.
So rich a comedy vein as this . . .
