That said, Apple should send Consumers Reports $100 Bug Bounty for discovering the bug, even though in a back-ass-wards fashion. :-) Perhaps. But it was not a dangerous flaw. If I were in charge of Apple, I'd send them a substantial contribution. However, Consumers' Reports would probably reject it because they wouldn't want to seem to have accepted a bribe.
