A very good article on the dark side of Hollywood. Puts their post election behavior into perspective

Try the opposite of watching a movie with the sound turned down.

Listen to cartoons without watching.

You're hearing people on dope.

These are our children's true teachers.

From one author who knows many in the movie/entertainment industry, 100% of actors see a shrink regularly.

The Greek word for actors is hupokrites, hypocrites. Play actors. Mask wearers.

Read the whole thing.

Quite disturbing. The Corey pair were tossed from person to person, plied with drugs and then basically raped over and over and over.

One director says of the leading ladies in 22 films he’s made, ALL have slept on the casting couch.

I knew a guy who worked with Chevy Chase in his prime. His face would be in a pile of coke akin to the scene in Scarface.

Mental issues run rampant.

Hollywood is “a mean town, run by weird men (mostly) addicted to power, money, deals, drugs, and bimbos.”...

Great quote. I know it applies to investment banking too. After working at 3, trust me.

As will be shown, drug use, prostitution (i.e., trading sexual favors for movie roles), and mental illness are very common in Hollywood.

No kidding.

But scroll down and read the rest of the article.

He gives one line about almost every actor or actress and how they were lonely or unhappy or depressed or felt like an outsider or didn't like themselves.

The writer is trying to make some kind of a point about actors being abnormal but makes them sound like typical, ordinary human beings or like people we should feel sorry for, rather than attack.

If comedy, say, is linked to deep unhappiness, if you can't have one without the other, what of it? Nobody needs to take political advice from comedians, but why run them down?

I watched a documentary about Rita Hayworth the other night. Rita Hayworth (Margarita Cansino) was dancing in a bar in Tijuana when she was 15 years old when she was discovered by Hollywood “talent scouts’. Her second husband pimped her out to Hollywood directors.

I actually got shocked the other day. One of our babysitters was here, a mature, talented blonde woman who does have an agent and goes on calls. She is over 50. She says that the casting couch exists nearly always when she goes in. She refuses and doesn’t get the job. Only one recent gig did not involve a guy trying to hit on her.... he simply waited until a scene where she was to kiss, and proceeded to “demonstrate” the kiss on her. I was kind of shocked that actresses get hit on even at that age.

Since the subject centers upon the fantasy industry, I momentarily wonder how nice it would be if the people in audiences weren’t so easy to influence.

No specific accusations.

And everyone interviewed somehow was the only one they knew not to have prostituted him or herself.

One thing I've noticed:

After watching an older movie with an especially attractive female lead, I go look up her work on IMDB.

A lot of these actresses have one, or maybe just two, major roles and then disappear from the screen.

I'm wondering if this is because they either rejected the casting couch and were blackballed, or decided to get out before they were forced to make a decision between their dignity and their career.

“We are going to have to do a much better job of learning and imparting moral truths.”

Excellent article. Charlie Sheen is the poster boy.

What happens after the liberal teachers and professors final accomplish their goal of defining deviance as moral?

Doesn't the casting couch primarily work because it is considered a sordid business that only the most desperate will sink into?

If having whatever kind of sex with a much older person of whichever sex is ever considered completely hunky-dory, then everyone that goes to Hollywood will gladly jump on the casting couch? How will the powers that be decide who to cast?

There may be some limiting factor that will unfortunately only be reached after countless lives have been hopelessly damaged.

the article contained many quotes from "celebs" and seemed all they did was blame everything on their poor childhoods...

I call BS...

sounds like excuses to me...

enjoy the movies...but we have to stop glorifying those jerks, and most of them are...
