FULL TITLE: ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Played On A 100-Year-Old Fairground Organ | You’ve Never Heard Anything Like This…

Bohemian Rhapsody Will Never Be Heard The Same Way, Again…

If you were to make a list of rock songs that should be given a 5-Star rating, there are many songs that should be included. Stairway To Heaven, Hotel California, Thunderstruck, Dream On, Welcome To The Jungle, and many others. But there is one song that truly stands out amongst them all and that song is Bohemian Rhapsody. Written by legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, this is a song that is still revered by many as one of the (if not THE greatest rock song of all time. It is a song that is classically inspired yet years ahead of its time. With its iconic harmonies and astonishing guitar work, this song deserves its own induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Since its release, the song has been covered in just about every possible way imaginable. Whether it’s acapella, or piano, or even bluegrass, you name it, it’s been done. But have you ever heard this song played back on a 100-year-old Fairground Organ. Chances are that you haven’t, but that’s about to change and for the better, might I add! What you’re about to watch is the aforementioned get played back on the aforementioned instrument. It’s beautiful and if you’re like me and have a fear of all things circus/clowns/fair etc, quite creepy. Nevertheless it is simply beautiful. Don’t believe me? See for yourself!

And yet, I’ll bet I’m not the only old programmer here that remembers paper tape (considered by some a cut above punch cards).

It’s one of my favorites too. In order:

Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman
Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl
Queen Bohemian Rhapsody

Just my $.02...

Um...no. As much as I like and admire Ted Nugent, that song isn't in near the same league as the others mentioned.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” is the best rock song.

One man's 'best' is another man's 'whatever'.

I love the song, Bohemian Rhapsody, but I'd never call it the best rock song of all time. I don't think there is such a thing.

Mercury was heading to the Mozart department when he wrote this one.

I had just listened to Bohemian Rhapsody on Saturday night when our very talented church organist took his turn on the organ during the Sunday morning service. He produced some sounds as if they came directly from the score. I chided him playfully afterwards that I thought I detected a little Bohemian Rhapsody and his response was that Mercury and he had both borrowed from Mozart.

Quite so ... too many are too good and too different to allow comparison.

A see nobody has mentioned "More Than a Feeling". Or "Hotel California". Or "White Rabbit". Or ...

Meh. Was sick of hearing it in December of 1975 and still am. My 15 year old daughter likes it, though.

“We Are the Champions”? Always sucked.......

My bad, I confused this with a Whiter Shade of Pale, which I consider to be much superior.

Hotel California was mentioned in the article, but I take your point.

I would have added "Third Stone From The Sun", "Sweet Emotion", "Roundabout", "Eleanor Rigby", "Tush", "Go Your Own Way", "Sweet Home Alabama", and "Riders On The Storm".

I think this has been debunked, but there were rumors that “One Night in Paris” by 10CC was the inspiration. For what it’s worth.
