Having been fully briefed on the "intelligence" proving Russians 'hacked' the election - because how else could Hillary Clinton have lost? - president-elect Trump is starting to shift the narrative this morning to expose the establishment's blinkered warmongery for missing the bigger picture that could be possible...

Of course, we can hear the spin now - "well this is exactly what a 'puppet of Putin' would say" - as a US president who seeks cooperation and not war must be a commie plant... or worse.
This follows the Intelligence Community's release of a declassified report that concluded Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign to help Trump win the White House. As The Hill notes,

You really think US should go to war over “Ukraines eastern region”?
Reagan negotiated with Gorbachev at a time when Russia was a communist empire that ruled not just all of Ukraine, but all of Eastern Europe as well. There’s no comparison with today’s Russia, yet you think Trump can’t try to get along the same way Reagan did?
Maybe, after hollowing out our military, Obama wants a war with Russia so we can be defeated.
It's worse than you know. Obama has been unable to produce tritium in any quantity. Our last plan shut down in the late 80s and without tritium our nukes don't work. We've been living on a coldwar stock pile, but the stuff only has a half life of 12 years and yet the plant commissioned by Obama hasn't produced anything despite 6 years of trying. We're in bad shape when it comes to our strategic defense.
The people war mongering against Russia are assuming that the war won't go nuclear during a period where it's questionable if our aging stockpile of nukes would work.
The good news is Obama quietly reversed on missile defense (press didn't report it) and we have a full network up and running in Poland. The bad news is the Russians appear confident that they've found a way to bypass or takeout the network in the advent of a war and no longer whine about it.
What of the ones in the other allied countries?
Yes, Reagan dealt with Gorbachev. He also learned from their invasion of Afghanistan. He also rebuilt the US military, worked with European NATO allies (especially Thatcher), with the Pope, and supported the Afghans fighting the Soviets. At that time when Reagan was doing these great things, Putin was a KGB Colonel supporting the Soviet Union and its GULAG system. We must deal with Putin, but we must not appease him or ignore his true nature.

For an anti-ballistic missile system to work best you need it placed where it can hit the missiles during the assent stage of the rocket. Placing a system farther west than Poland isn’t useful.
Only a fool would want a war with Russia’s greatest military figure, Marshal Winter.
Wars that we didn’t win, BTW. We haven’t been decisive in a major conflict for a long, long time.
Explain how Putins “true nature” is different from his late boss’s (Gorbachev’s). And how you know
I’m glad Trump tweets what the normal and sane public needs to hear.
The fake news media and warmongering globalists are trying to mainstream war and insanity.
You and ETL are going to have a rough 4 (maybe 8 years). Trump isn’t a Russophobe like you, too. Prepare yourselves.
Respectfully (as a fellow Trump supporter),

Putin’s goal is to expand the Russian empire to make it like the Soviet Union. Gorbachev wanted to reform the Soviet Union. Some of what I know I cannot say how I know it.
Or blame Obama for being stupid in the first place. Lots of blame to go around.
So Putin wants to recreate Gorbachevs empire? Reagan could deal with emperor Gorbachev, but we can’t deal with Putin? BS
See post #65. I answered you once on dealing with Putin. If you’re reading these post, you’re reading them too quickly to comprehend them or deliberately pretending, twice now, that I’ve written things that are not in my posts.
You do realize that Russia is allies with Iran right? As of matter fact Iran inked a ten billion dollar arms with Russia and the Russians have said they want no changes in the Iran-Nuclear deal.
True.
I’ve read all your posts, and you’re cleverly trying to escape - or not admit when confronted — the clear implications of what you’re writing. the implication is that we have to be militarily hostile toward today’s Russia. “I never said that” is familiar ruse by people who want to push an unpopular opinion, but need to do so by implication and suggestion rather than total candor.
You also profess a mind-reading power about Putin, claiming “his goal” is to reestablish Gorbachev’s Soviet Empire. Where’s your evidence? Vast leaps of faith based on Russia n activity in a region of Ukraine that was Russian for centuries, and Russian support for its longtime ally, Syria, against Christian-killing jihadis. None of that is evidence for your sweeping libel. All you have is mind-reading. And in the end, your mind-reading includes denying Putin’s profession that he is now a Christian. St Paul because a Christian after killing Christians for years. He wasn’t believed at first, understandably. I’m not comparing Putin to St Paul - but the fact Putin used to be in KGB is no slam-dunk argument that he’s not a Christian today.
