Certification blow by blow
The tellers who took turns reading the certificates were Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO), Sen. Amy Klobacher (D-MN), Rep. Gregg Harper (R-MS) and Rep. Robert Brady (D-PA).
The troll-like Brady, whom I had never seen speak before, was ill-suited for the role. He spoke too quickly and usually pronounced “electoral” as “electorial”. He seemed a man who’s calling was breaking legs for the mob on the streets of Philly.
Several House rats made challenges, no Senator signed any of them so they caused only minor delay.
Right off the bat Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) objected to Alabama’s votes on the grounds of “Russia”.
The swishy looking Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) of the DC suburbs objected to Florida on the grounds that 10 electors held a political office and this was illegal in Florida (obviously it’s not). Bonus points for bringing up a technical issue rather than whining about Russia.
Pramila Jayapal (D-WA, the new commissar for Seattle) objected to Georgia on the grounds of long lines or something, at this point Biden stopped letting them spout off and immediately started asking if they had a Senator’s support. Biden “It’s over”. She responded by starting to sing “The internationale” in Russian from the “Air Force One” soundtrack.

Maxine Waters (D-CA) objected to Michigan because “people were horrified”, I was horrified 4 and 8 years ago. She started whining about voting machines in rat-controlled Wayne county shutting down and they cut her mike!
Water’s soul sista, Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) objected to Mississippi due to “massive voter suppression”. Biden seems pissed at this point. A parliamentarian or someone standing next to him was reminding him of what to say. “The gentlewoman will suspend”.
Amy K. was reading NH, there was some mistake on the paper that caused a minor delay
Raul Grijavla (D-AZ) objected to North Carolina on due to “violations of the voting rights act”. Biden shut him down and then Raul started to cry and quickly inhaled six donut holes.
Lee also objected to NC.
Washington State is up, where there all those faith Shilly electors, I regret that Blunt was reading it instead of Brady. I would have paid money to hear Brady say “Faith Spotted Eagle” and then furrow his brow. There were some snickers and a clap among the members when Blunt was reciting the 70 different people that got votes for Vice President.
Waters objects to West Virginia for some reason. I think Waters, I’m sorry I have trouble telling her and Lee apart. One was wearing blue and the other red, this was the blue one. Maybe Biden mixed them up I swear he said the red one was from Texas, I’m confused. The blue one is better looking, I think it’s Lee, I don’t know. Who cares.

At the end 3 or 4 idiots in the peanut gallery had to be dragged out. Biden seemed bored and impatient throughout but generally acquitted himself well. Better than Al Gore.
