A giant wire spool fell off the back of a truck on a Pennsylvania highway and started to roll down the highway. Luckily, no cars were hit. See what it looks like in real-time, at 10x speed and slo-mo.

Wire you making jokes about something so series?
Don't resist
he has the capacity to do it.
I was driving at night in thick fog several years back, saw large eyes glowing at windshield level and slammed on the brakes. My car was completely surrounded by deer, peering in the windows. The fog was so thick you could barely see the street lights and I was really worried that I was going to get slammed into from behind by someone who couldn’t see me. So, I started blowing the horn which seemed to piss off the bucks. Though they were going to attack the car. But then, they all leapt off the roadway, almost in unison as if on cue. The horn didn’t do it. Whatever it was, I was glad to be able to get moving again.
DANG!
Around 1970 I saw a large tire and wheel fall off the back of a truck and roll into traffic. I was on a Troy team bus and all of us watched as it hit a car just about head on.
It really crushed the car. I never did hear what happened to the passengers but it was bad. The coach immediately told the driver to keep going.
That induced a chuckle!
What are the chances of that?
I was waiting to see Harold Lloyd or Laurel & Hardy running down the street just 10 yards in front of the giant spool.
Yikes! I’ve always imagined something like this whenever I’ve seen such reels on the backs of trucks.
100%, otherwise you wouldn't exist. I understand what you're trying to express, though, that the likelihood of anyone being born to an unbroken line through famine, pestilence, disease and accidental death seems daunting. Maybe there's some other way to frame the question that would get at the nub of it. But, the chances actually are 100% for the question as asked.
Route 40 near Uniontown.
I've seen them go straight up in the air on a temper mill. The experienced guys knew when to run like hell.
Rolling mills are a whole ‘nother set of crazy events that could happen.
Stuff like this is my nightmare.
“Both from trucks overturning on the PA Turnpike.”
PA is the WORST, why, why is that?
You are lucky and I pray you remain lucky!
Just out of school, living one address a year before moving. Easiest piece of furniture to move ever devised.
Over the years I have seen numerous wheels with tires come off trucks, buses and cars and flying down and across the freeways. One I saw came off a bus, went over the center divider and hit a car head on and bounced over it and kept on going. This was in the Los Angeles area and traffic was not moving but maybe 10-15mph.
Once on I-78 something strapped to a pallet jumped out of the back of a pickup and came down right in front of me. Fortunately, it skittered off to the right and ended up on the shoulder and nobody hit it.
The moron kept going for a while before he realized that something was missing, and the last I saw of him he had pulled onto the shoulder, and was in reverse. He had about a mile to go.
I hope his cargo was destroyed, and it cost him a bundle.
I seen one fall off a truck and when it hit it telescoped out about a 100 ft... taking out a few cars with it! No one got hurt but was a thrill to see!
