Since Tuesday, 26 to 48 inches of fresh snow had fallen, with the deepest totals at the summit. Plows were working furiously to keep lots and streets clear.

Normal resort operations could be affected as personnel struggle to deal with the snow.

- 6 now in the Bitterroot. Forecast is for -17 or lower. More snow on the way, too. Should be a great fishing season!

Mammouth Mountain where? Greenland? Antarctica? Siberia? Where? When you report something on FR, you’re talking to the whole planet. Don’t assume that we’re all locals. Thanks.

People can’t get out of their subdivisions because the snow is too deep.

Count me as one of those people. Waiting for sunrise so I can start shoveling.

We're 30 inches above our average here in northern Michigan in only the first month of snow. And it came earlier than usual.

Climate change indeed. A snowful year apparently.

For the first time ever we are contemplating purchase of something that removes snow from the roof.

Hope the Cali folk endure, but I have little empathy for them currently.

I loved my stints working in Boise.

The only problem, back then, they did not salt the roads before or after they iced up.
One lady at the office, a huge environmentalist, was horrified I suggested the put salt on the roads to create safe roads

How's that inversion treatin' ya? I'm a Nampa native myself. My folks still live there. Inversions, above all else, were what I hated most about winters in the Treasure Valley.

I do remember a big storm back in the winter of '76/'77. We had just moved into a two-story house with a semi-basement (about 4 feet of the basement was actually below ground). The garage was a two-car version, and the driveway wide enough to accommodate. It was also sloped down from the street like a big swimming pool, with a cinder block wall on both sides that, at its highest, was about 5' tall next to the garage.

We woke up one morning to that driveway being filled with snow to the point you'd think it was a normal, flat driveway.

All of this Unexpected Snow and extremely Cold Weather is a Direct Result of California’s AGGRESSIVE Global Warming Initiative instituted by Arnold Schwarzenegger and carried on by Moonbeam. AB32.

Because of this Aggressive Action they have plunged the rest of the US into a Mini Ice Age which is threatening Millions Of INNOCENT TAXPAYERS.

When are the STATES and the People going to SUE THESE CLOWNS for Committing GENOCIDE???.

Boise has more snow on the ground than at any time in the past 30 years. 18 inches of globull warming. People can’t get out of their subdivisions because the snow is too deep

We're supposed to get 3 more inches on Saturday, and then it warms up above freezing and starts RAINING. My concern now is that my cul-de-sac is going to be a lake. I'm considering getting a snow blower to clear out the rain gutters up and down my street so the water has somewhere to go.

The head of Obama’s EPA predicted there would be no snow in the Sierra Nevada Mtns by 2016.

Do you have a reference for that? I can't find any mention of it.

On the other side of 395, behind the thermal plant, is an impromptu shooting range that the locals and cops use.

When I was there They had TVs and even stuffed bears hanging from string to shoot at.

definitely more fun than the urban shooting ranges!

This should get you started:

That blog post doesn't mention a) snow, b) the Sierra Nevada mountains, or c) Gina McCarthy.

Do you have a reference to back up your claim that she said there would be no snow in Sierras by 2016?
