Sneezed a lot. Coughed. Generally felt like hell. Got back from Cumberland in the wee hours Tuesday morning, a 14 hour journey through lousy weather, and brought a cold back with me. Still trying to shake it. I've actually spent most of the last four days in bed. The missus has done a sterling job of taking down most of the holiday decorations and packing them up. I've been in a general daze with all the cold and flu meds I've been pumping into myself. Kinda light-headed, unfocused, and detached from my surroundings. This must be what it feels like to be a liberal.

Yep, you're right next door, as the crow flies. Same system is dumping on us. Tomorrow's a company holiday, so at least I can stay warm and dry inside with the Rat Pack.

I've been popping Hall's Defense. They taste like furniture polish, but they're loaded with Vitamin C. Prolly need some zinc, as well.

We’re off from the radio station tomorrow, too, which is good. It will give my left eye time to feel better. Last night a drop of hot oil popped into my eye when I was cooking (my dumb fault for forgetting and letting it get too hot). It feels crummy, and my eye is still watering, but hopefully, I’ll live. :-)

Ouch. First degree burn on the orb. That's gonna smart a day or so. No worries - I've done that before myself. It happens. Once I was smoking a whole ham in a barrel smoker, forgot to take into account the influx of fresh air then I took the lid off, and a hot column of flames shot up out of it like rocket exhaust then I stuck my face in. Looked like something Wile E. Coyote would have done. Singed my eyelashes completely off. Everyone else thought it was a hoot except me. LOL

It sucks to be careless, which is what I was. I put olive oil in a skillet to cook some frozen green beans, and I walked away and stupidly checked the Internet. Then, I’m all SHOOT, the oil! Instead of just turning off the fire, I just poured the green beans in, and BOOM! The oil went nuts, and I got a dose in my left eye. Today I cleaned the whole mess up. Stupid, stupid, but it could’ve been worse.

Yep, we’re still having off and on lightning, too. Severe weather is forecast for the areas in front of this system.
