Saying Goodbye To Ed Walker

Ed Walker spent 65 years on the radio. His last program was unlike any other.

Happy New Year All! It's been a relaxing day...

The lineup looks great at times, love the Whistler and we have a Shadow which is not run enough...we'll have to see about the AFRS NYE Dancing Party from ‘45 which could be good.

How were the holidays? No hangover here BTW...

Happy New Year, Vision! Do you not have a hangover because you didn’t drink anything or you didn’t drink too much? :-)

We’ve had over 6 inches of rain here in about 12 hours—our New Year’s Day flood. Our back yard was a lake earlier until the water receded, but it’s still raining and more’s on the way.

Happy New Year Gina. Didn't drink anything, went to bed early. You?

That's a crazy amount of rain...is everything ok?

Oh, yeah, everything’s fine, although there’ve been some thunderstorms mixed in with the showers. It’s just a lot of low pressure coming in off the Gulf. The National Weather Service says we could end up with around a 10-inch storm total by tomorrow.

Yesterday Keith and I stayed home (as usual). He smoked a pork butt for a long time while we listened to the Alabama game (they won). We didn’t stay up late. The heavy rain started last night, and that put a damper on people shooting off fireworks all around us. It normally sounds like a war zone here on New Year’s Eve.

Good. I watched the Alabama game and smoked a brisket.

I might be volunteering at the inauguration.

VERY COOL! What kind of volunteer work would you be doing at the inauguration? I would LOVE to be there!

I can't believe it's ALREADY been one year! One year ago tomorrow, January 2nd, we saw Mr. Trump at his first rally of 2016, which he did here on the Coast. It was a packed coliseum, and a freak deal that we ended up right up front, although we had to stand for hours once we were in place on the floor in front of his podium. He was so close to me that I could've touched him at the end when he came around greeting everyone. But I was trying to take a picture of Onyx (she's pictured here with me and Keith), because she really wanted one of her with Mr. Trump.

Sounds like a good lineup. I always like George and Gracie. I don’t know about the New Years Dancing Party, but the 1945 holidays must have been a joyous time, after so many years of war.

Evenin’, I agree. It’s just starting. He said they play the dancing party every year but for some reason I don’t remember it...

Evening, folks. A wet and messy night here, as well. Been raining non-stop since yesterday afternoon, with no end in sight until Tuesday morning.
