Confined to a California prison since 1971, former Manson family member and convicted murderer Patricia Krenwinkel is now the longest-serving female inmate in the states correctional system.
On Thursday, the 69-year-old will have a chance at freedom when a review board considers whether to recommend her for parole.
Krenwinkel was sent to death row after a Los Angeles jury convicted her of killing actress Sharon Tate and six others in a two-day rampage intended to trigger a race war. The killings were done at the behest of Charles Manson, leader of a cult-like group living on an old movie ranch near Chatsworth.

You’re making a fool of yourself because you seem to know little of the Manson family murders. This article you posted is about the the parole of the butcher Krenwinkel and though the Clinton Crime Family may be little better than Manson murderers it doesn’t justify leniency for these animals.
I lived in So CA when these vicious murders took place, in my view you should give up your crusade.
You nailed it.
Others murdered at the Tate scene nor Leno and Rosemary LaBianca were celebrities.
I know more of this case than you think I know. I have read up on it.
I damn well know this. We had a B**** who almost entered the White House, who did far worse than Pat Kernwinkle ever thought of, dreamed of, even did. We did not dodge a bullet at this election we dodge an A Bomb.
Seeing how things are, Hillary will not run again but they are grooming Chelsea and that is cause for concern.
I am saying this not to push for Kernwinkle parole but to get people to think.
1. Why is our justice system so mess up?
Don’t deny it. All during the election were were chanting “Hillary for Prison”. That was the truth but has yet to become reality.
These people are far far worse than the Mansons could have ever dreamed and we almost had them in the White House again!!!
For the love of God and this Country don’t ever let that happen.
Yes I have strange ways of making points but try to expand your mind!
You picked a poor example to try to crucify the Clinton Crime Family...The Manson butcherers were convicted and sentenced to die.
Crying at the parole hearings???tears for herself and not for her brutally murdered victims. Yes they should have been executed years ago and now never be allowed one day of freedom. Hey maybe barky can pardon her....
I agree with you, Morgana. The aims of the criminal justice system are punishment, deterrence and rehabilitation. Based on current norms, 45 years in jail is beyond the standard served by other convicted murderers, the thought of wasting your life in prison should deter others, and both she and Van Houten show very good signs of rehabilitation and have worked well in counseling fellow prisoners. I remember when that kook killed John Lennon, and my fellow classmates, who universally opposed the death penalty (I did not and do not) all wanted to see if an exception could be made for Chapman. The sentence should not depend on whether the victim was a celebrity.
Listen, although you and I despise him, Sirhan Sirhan couldn’t have been all bad since William Ayers dedicated his first book to him and Mr. Ayers is friends with some very influential, respected people.
Van Houten’s original conviction and sentenced were overturned by the court due to inadequate representation. It seems the family murdered her lawyer toward the end of the trial. Van Houten’s second trial ended in a hung jury. In her third trial she was convicted of felony murder. That is murder committed in the act it of an armed robbery. She was given a sentence of life with the possibility of parole. Her conviction and sentence are different than the other Manson murders.
And this applies to this murderous scumbag how exactly??
Charlie was at the Labianca murder site according to the star witness, look it up very interesting stuff.
I don’t give a GD about no Kennedy’s, but Sirhan is exactly where he belongs.
She cut an unborn baby out of Sharon Tate - and *you* want her released?
“The only way out of prison for the Manson Family killers before their death is to leave on a gurney, cancer-ridden, weak as a kitten, with just days to live. “
Just like Susan Atkins did. Even though she tried to request a release because she was dying from Brain Cancer, she was denied. Now she knew how Sharon felt when she too begged for her life and baby.
Sending a murderer to the gas chamber is justice. Hoping he goes to Hell is hate—pure malice. It is sinful. Hell is not a punishment in the same sense as earthly punishment. It is absolute failure.
I am in complete agreement that hILLary should be there...
That she is not is another discussion. How best to facilitate that in to coming to pass. Nobody in the Department of Just-Us is willing to charge her with the multiple felonies she has committed. I suppose that her legacy of indicted criminality is going to have to suffice. Maybe Atty General Sessions may be in the mood to prosecute her. We shall see.
As for Krenwinkle and VanHouten they’ve been in jail and should remain there. What they did is a special brand of sickness and they have forfeited their liberty.
If we get to heaven and find that Hitler is there because he was a total psychotic and never actually committed a sin in his life, we will rejoice. Not that I think it’s likely!
they were young and stupid, druggies and dropouts...
it depends on who you are.....if you're a big and rich leftist you get the get out of jail free card...otherwise, you will rot in hell....
I am not sanctioning this murder. OJ Simpson slit the throats of a couple of white people, the evidence was irrefutable, and yet, he walked free. The point is, justice isn’t even close to equal. The Clinton and Obama crime families have brought death to thousands for political and personal gain.
